Welcome to the Portal. This offseason, we’re starting a new series to breakdown the entire transfer classes of each team in the SEC. We’ll go player by player, looking at analytics, player’s game, and their overall fit into their new team. Today we’re talking LSU.
We’re entering year three for Matt McMahon in Baton Rouge. The last two seasons haven’t put LSU back in the NCAA Tournament, but they’ve seen some improvement from the Tigers. This offseason, McMahon might not have the hottest seat in the SEC, but eventually expectations are going to be coming from LSU fans and the Tigers need to return to the NCAA tournament soon.
But for now, Matt McMahon had some pieces he had to replace from last season. Jordan Wright, Will Baker, Trae Hannibal, and Jalen Cook are gone. LSU was in need of some upgrades in the backcourt and find a new big man. McMahon got the positions but did he get the upgrades to get LSU in a spot to hear their name called on Selection Sunday?
Lat’s take a look at the transfers. The Tigers brought in three new players and rank the #14 transfer class in the SEC.
