if nri cannot buy agricultural land then why the state government is taking the registration charges and the registration is done this is not nri fault ..nri will go for buying unknowingly..if there is a rule in fema it is state government responsibility to follow and must inform the buyer and should not allowed to get registered

*_I have the following two questions:_* 1) After I became an NRI , I got my share of agricultural land from the ancestors. I can legally hold it .. right ? But can I carry agricultural activities on the said land or can I rent /lease to any Indian citizen who can use it for agricultural purpose..? 2) I bought a piece of agricultural land before I leave India . Can I now rent/lease the land to a Indian citizen.

1. As an NRI, you can legally hold agricultural land inherited from ancestors. You may also lease or rent it to an Indian citizen for agricultural activities. 2. If a relative has bought agricultural land. The DC conversion has been done after that can a NRI buy that land or take that land as a gift?

So am i correct in saying and NRI who inherited agriculral land cannot gift this land to their NRI son, this can only be passed on by way of inheritance ? is this correct sir ??
