When I was in ntcc I always heard preachers say “you need to get saved” “they need to get saved” and I heard some ever say it under their breath referring to me……. I was so unsure of my salvation it was crippling… even all the way to third year in Bible school, I wondered if I had really “hit the rock” I now sort of feel sorry for them because I’ve learned through study much of what you say here.. and they seem to do nothing but inspect fruit over there. I do believe you can apostatize but I definitely believe our salvation is secure. As one man said “if I could loose my salvation I already would have”

I think it is a man-fearing concept: I believe in the verses 'no man shall ever pluck us out of His Hand: and I am with you always even until the end of the World.' Matthew 28:20; Mark 10:28-30. HE knows His chosen whom he had called and we know Him; and HE is in us and we are in Him. 1 John 4:13-19.

I never liked the use of the word "lose" linked with salvation. Because that word implies an accident, as if one was to lose their car keys or wallet. In that sense, I don't believe it's possible for anyone to "lose" their salvation. However, I do believe we choose to serve God, and at the same time He also chooses us or vice versa. We choose to live a life of faith every day. I believe the scriptures teaches that it's possible for a person to willfully and completely turn away from the faith they once knew. It's definitely not something that happens by accident or overnight. A person can allow themselves to be gradually drawn away from the faith they once knew. Again, that is not "losing," one's salvation, that is a voluntary and willful act. (Ezek. 18:24-32; Rom. 1:21-28; Col. 1:21-24; I Tim 1:19-20; I Tim. 2:3-4; I Tim. 4:1-2; I Tim. 5:15; I Tim. 6:21; Heb. 10:26 II Pet. 2:20-22; James 5:19-20). I realize that all Calvinist's disagree with this.

FYI, I am definitely not a Calvinist, however, Jesus said His sheep will NEVER perish. If they COULD perish, then Christ made an untrue statement. He did not give us 'probationary' life, but He gave us ETERNAL Life.
