What else do you store in your password manager beyond passwords?

I have all my financial data, software licences, passport details, travel insurance and much more stored securely in notes in my password manager. 440 logins and 170 notes - so a hub for all my life’s data in one place!

Besides Passwords, I also store bank info, credit cards, passport numbers and license numbers. Also software licenses info, home security codes, wifi passwords and insurance info.

You kind of said at the end what I was thinking through most of the video. If I wasn’t already using 1Password, and I was starting out fresh, then I might consider using RoboForm. However, for the minimal difference in price, it really isn’t worth the time to switch, at least for me personally.

Used to use the U3 version of RoboForm years ago when it could be loaded up onto a USB stick - U3 was pretty handy back in the day…

Thank you for such a clear review. I have used the free Roboform on my PC for some years following Carey Holzmans recommendation and find it to be perfect for me the way I use it. I have recently returned to Apple and am on the fence since keychain does the job. The discount is very tempting though!

In terms of security, how do you perceive the C2 Password Synology password manager and is it a suitable choice for personal use?

Hey Mark, hate to make you the Roboform customer service agent (LOL)... I downloaded it and started to use it but did not find any way to keep my credit card and bank info handy. Did I miss something or did that maybe just get forgotten? I previously used 1 Password and now Bitwarden and each of those securely hold my credit cards and lets me paste that info in when needed - I don't see that hear (unless, like I said, I missed it somewhere). That could be a dealbreaker for me. But thanks for the honest and interesting review and offer!

How about a review of Bitwarden. You’ll just have to survive on ad revenue and be totally impartial

Excellent presentation! However, any thoughts on Bitwarden? Open source, free to personal users and very well specified. I looked at Roboform (alongside around 6 others in August 2021) but rejected it because it could not import my many Secure Notes. Also it could only auto fill passwords - not other data, unless I was using their own Roboform browser. Hopefully things have improved since then!

Update - I have now tested the Bitwarden export to Roboform. I am glad to report that secure notes DO now import so a great move forward. The process to import was not straightforward but does work. I'm not sure the UI is any better than Bitwarden (which in turn is not as good as 1Password).

Unless you have a need for extensive form-filling capabilities, 1Password is a far better and more elegant password manager. I trialed both 1Password and Roboform, and found 1Password to be quick, pretty, and handled my needs very comprehensively. Roboform, on the other hand, felt like a series of kludges, forcing me to do a bunch of tab and window cycling to get what I wanted to get done. Robo is definitely less expensive, though. If "less expensive" is your biggest motivation, then you can find a good password manager for free (Bitwarden, KeepassXC, Nordpass). If you want comprehensive password manager capabilities, coupled with a very reasonable price, then Bitwarden fits the bill nicely.
