Жыл бұрын
@@essenceofmusic9523 Hello! I first want to preface by saying I am by no means a professional! I've been teaching beginner/intermediate for about two years or so now. To answer your question, it largely depends on your style. A lot of pop styles these days use a lot of Chords/progressions as an accompaniment rather than a melody, which requires more notes than chord styles. There are 12 Major and 12 Minor chords, and multiple variations and inversions of each chord. One handy thing is a lot of the same rules apply to each chord, if that makes sense. Like I, IV, V, and VII chords all have similar structure regardless of what Key signature you're playing in. As for the rest, I believe a lot of it largely stems from chords and different ways to play them. I don't know where you are with your teaching, but I would recommend learning the basic types of notes and the notes of the Grand staff first. There are tons of cheatsheets and memory tricks online. Once you learn some of those basics you lay the foundation to be able to play most pieces of sheet music. If you are self-teaching, I highly recommend checking into the Faber Piano Adventures Adult books 1 and 2. I'll leave a link to the website, It's what I've been using with all my students so far. What I love about this curriculum is it's specifically set up to help you self learn if you don't happen to have a teacher, and there are also videos available to help if you are struggling. It starts with the very basics, basic notes, timing/tempo, and overall music structure, and teaches you basic sheet music reading. Each lesson builds upon the last, and introduces basic chords and their structures fairly quickly, but gives you time to absorb before moving on to the next chord or lesson, with exercises to help you absorb the information. Faber also has an exercize book which has helped with major and minor scales which you may find useful, although I think they are mostly just scales, not chords or chord building. I really hope this helps. As I said, I'm not the most skilled professional. I'll leave a link to the website, and please feel free to ask me any more questions. I'm more than happy to help any way that I can. I'm sure there are tons of other resources on KZitem or online websites as well. Good luck with your playing! Please never give up! God Bless! pianoadventures.com/piano-books/adult-piano-adventures/

There’s nothing wrong about being anxious about a strict teacher! I do my best to encourage my students rather than just be strict. My priority is to make my students feel comfortable around me, and to push them hard enough to help them improve, but not so hard that they get discouraged. I’ve taught a variety of students with different personalities and strengths, and I can tell when they have put in effort, and there is a difference between them working hard and struggling vs them just not putting in the effort. If you’re genuinely working hard to learn, a good teacher will help you to progress at your pace and in the way that works best for you. And if your teacher just isn’t meeting your needs for learning then there’s nothing wrong with trying to find a different teacher. Please don’t get discouraged! I hope you decide to pursue music! Even if you just learn the basics, it’s a skill that will provide hours of enjoyment and relaxation for the rest of your life!

Hey guys please me advice!! I started playing keyboard 3 days ago. Im very serious in learning and want to play hard pieces. And want to compose music. I have good amount of knowledge on the guitar(6 years of experience. Semi advance player) im a self teach in both piano and guitar. I dont think i will be getting a teacher. Yes its highly adviced to do so but im broke and saving up money for 88 keys digital piano. And just dont have the time for classes. Since im very far away from any piano teacher. In these past 3 days i have learn alot of stuff. Reading sheet music. And im stucked with 3 finger exercise. Trying to have my finger think independantly. Which is hard. And always have soft wrist and fingers to not strain my self. And i took canon in c in my repertoire since its all white keys. And easy. Learnt 50% of the piece. With that said. What should i focus on next? Yes i might need to work alot more on my sight reading and fingers and stuff. But what the most useful and important fundamental that i need to master in order to be a pro? I practice 3-4 hours a day since i have alot of free time after im done with work.
