What do you want to see next? Painting it? Repairing bad prints? Printing it full size on a small printer? How about printing it full size, repairing the prints, painting it, then blowing it up?

I think a video on repairing would be good to see. Reprinting to me isn’t really different than a regular print video. Learning to repair would interest me more.

I think the repairing video is a good idea, but I also think that coming up with ideas of how to make those defects or broken pieces into "real" damage to the "creature" would be neat

A tutorial on how to fit and orient this on the print plate would be nice. I have a Prusa MK3S+ and that body isn't fitting on my print bed at 100 %
@the_madmaker

oof, what are the dimensions on that printer?
@CaptainWolffi
2 жыл бұрын
@@the_madmaker according to Prusa it's 25×21×21 cm (9.84"×8.3"×8.3") Also I'm fairly new to this hobby so I need instructions on more complicated prints like this one in order to learn 😅
@the_madmaker

@@CaptainWolffi you pretty much just have to spin it around in all directions until you find an orientation that works, or as close to fitting as you can. If it just won’t fit, scale it down little by little until it fits. Whatever your scale ratio is will be your max size on the body. I’m my experience, max scale on the body should also be small enough to fit each of the other parts.

@@the_madmaker is there a tip on how to orient the models? I presume there is a right way to place them ok the bed?

Don't use the cut setting in lychee use the part model feature it will part your model's just like they have been keys and parted in blender! It's an absolute amazing feature I'm not sure if it's new added with the new paint on supports make things so fast but the parting model setting just under the cut tab I tried it to see what it don't last night and could not believe how I am just seeing this now!

My GF got me the Tarraque STL for our anniversary. I do not own a printer but I have a friend with an Elegoo Saturn 2. He has difficulty printing 80% of the models I send him so I don't really know if I dare to send him this.
@the_madmaker
Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s an especially challenging one. If he’s down for it you can have him take a swing and just ask him to err on the side of over supporting. You’ll have more cleanup work but better odds of getting a good final piece. But if he dinks it up, that’s a lot of wasted resin…

In lychee Pro there's a setting under cut model it's for piecing the model in parts but works alongside cleaner than just cutting the model! I was using it last Night on a tank turret it parted the turret into 322 parts it was like building a model kit everything cut from the joint seaplanes and the barrel slide out its mantlet cover just like a key! I've just parted a 1.6 Green ranger for faster printing in my mono2 and sat 2! I, not sure if this is part of the new stuff added for supports painting but it's genius!

i have a resin printer coming delivery soon that can fit full size pieces, what angles per piece worked the best for your resin models, and/or would those same angles work at full scale
@the_madmaker

No way to know for sure until you set it up for your specific printer dimensions. I just had to maneuver them around until they fit. If you have the files, you can start playing with it while you’re waiting on your printer to be delivered. Just set up your printer in whatever slicing software you plan to use. Good luck?

I ordered the full sized Tarrasque on the kickstarter. I have a elegoo Mars 2. I printing the 100% would be a nightmare. I weighed how much resin it would take and the potential reprints and decided $120 and not having to worry about it was a good call. I have used the stl files to print small, medium, and large size versions for my D&D party. Let my try having a pet Tarrasque and keep up with its food needs before it burrows underground and becomes a big problem.

I'm having issues cutting the body and tail in two parts each. There seems to be internal geometry between some of the carapace plates that prevent a clean slice. I'm using Orca slicer and Meshmixer to separate the model. Any tips for slicing the large parts? I split the base just fine and printed the head in one piece fine.
