No offense intended - but the guy doing the shooting doesn't have the technique to comment on the recoil - watching his mantisX graphs - his support hand is throwing it up and right so sight consistently comes down and left as it settles in - and his technique is inconsistent so it's tough to say whether it's him or the ammo.

@@smashfaces I have no idea what "average" is admittedly. I like things to be true across the whole range of skills - example is I let someone shoot a CZ shadow pistol and he commented on how hard it recoiled - but he used a folded thumb revolver grip. The gun is incredibly soft shooting - his technique wasn't there to experience. This is kind of like that in my eyes.

So, I think it’s useful seeing a “regular guy” using less than ideal technique. That’s the large majority of reasonably trained and competent non-professionals who don’t or can’t shoot 2000 rounds a week or more…on KZitem channels nonetheless.

@@229glock that's appreciated - but if you had an inconsistent ruler and used it to measure a table - would you be using a ruler to measure a table or a table to measure a ruler? That's kind of what's going on.

Good video, my girl just got the Hellcat. She is very proud of it so far after one range day. Something not mentioned by others, by dropping weight to 100 grains, how is this better than a .380? She has a Bersa Firestorm and we've got 95 grain ammo for it, so why not stick with the .380?

I also thought it that is an interesting topic (I have some 99gr hst in .380 acp for reference). I believe even though the bullets themselves share similar weights in these particular loads, the velocity out of the 9mm will be higher due to difference in case dimensions between the two. This may translate to more energy being delivered on target as well as a difference in felt recoil.

@@LimeTimeHD I'd agree that 9mm has the larger casing and thus more powder to propel slugs. The shorter barrel length of micro compacts does have an effect of reduced speed. As I understand it longer barrels allow for greater acceleration. However I'm not an engineer or expert on the topic, so I ask, where does the micro sizing become detrimental to the efficiency of the bullet? New Hellcat with 3.8 inch barrell came out yesterday, and now that's the one I want.

@@randomcommentary6099 I am no expert by any means either haha but I do think that is where advancements in modern bullet technology and higher +p loadings come into play. Some companies offer ammunition to specifically counter loss in velocity with shorter barrel micro compact pistols for self defense needs. When it comes to what grain bullets people like to shoot in 9mm, its mostly personal preference. However, just my opinion, but I always advocate carrying what you feel the most comfortable with shooting accurately. As well as something that is proven 100% reliable through your pistol of choice through as much training as possible.

@@LimeTimeHD Yes, I agree, be confident and comfortable with what you carry, and you are more likely to carry everyday. Being prepared everyday, is better than having something you are not comfortable with, that has the best track record ever, sitting at home locked up in a closet.

Take a look at the 380 vs 9mm honey badger round. Honey badger is by far the best round and it’ll help with recoil issues. Other rounds you can look into for her are the liberty civil defense and the norma MHP rounds but honey badger is still my go to.

+p is up to 10% over SAMI spec. +p+ is anything 11% & beyond. No handgun is "rated" for +p+, however, there are some known name brand bullets that are +p+ & have proven to be safe to run in many +p rated handguns over the years.
