They must have found that Beam barrel in the basement. Great comparison. It is fun to get your take on a spirit that most of us will never get the chance to taste.

Thanks for doing the review. The Hardin’s Creek 211 months is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had so I might try to seek this one out.

I love the Jim Beam nuttiness, and I love when "oakiness" is done right on older whiskies, and I love the KC 18yr that I managed to get last year, so this sounds right up my alley... pity I'll never get one! 😅

In 1999 wasn't bourbon losing to Scotch which is often finished. So they could have plausibly decided that to demand a high price they needed to make something finished. Makes perfect sense to me when you think about the market at the time.

Very cool KB is house stock and definitely a staple in my house thanks for sharing. Probably will never get my hands on that 20 yr goodness price and availability. Cheers.

Had to secure it through secondary but felt like it was worth it to have the oldest Beam release. I’m a big fan of dusty beam, so this will complement my collection well. Great review!

Chad is rocking my favorite piece of whiskeytube merch, the wu-tang tee. I have had people step out and be like - love the shirt - then keep it moving with the tee like 4-5 times in the last 2 yrs. I always assume they are also fans...

The same company that makes the $15k Spark also makes the $75k Corvette. So, it makes sense to me that Jim Beam can make a bottom shelf bourbon for $15 and a world class 20 year bourbon for $250. This is a really great format. Thanks guys! How does it compare to the JB Lineage if you guys have tried it?

I was lucky enough to attend the Clermont Supper Club and was able to grab this bottle. Got to try it first and I thought the nose and palette was great but the finish was a bit short. Probably like the HC 211 more but this was well worth the money to me. Most expensive bottle o have ever purchased. Cheers

I was able to attend the dinner with them and obtain a bottle. It's amazing. I dont know when I'll open it, but I will eventually. Got the box signed by fred and freddie as well as baker beam. Will look great on the bar display.

Bardstown Collection: is that like an independent bourbon bottler, like Signatory or Douglas Laing are for Scotch? Does something like this even exist for bourbon in the US?

Yes, the times are changing. The potentially tricky part is that it's changing in different ways. As many producers are releasing limited (and expensive) releases, more consumers aren't able to spend that type of money on bourbon.

Did y’all ever review the JB Lineage that you picked up on a previous hunting video? Curious to hear what kind of oak level that has, since it’s 15-year “special” Beam (and available at the distillery regularly, probably more gettable).

@ItsBourbonNight please do. I picked one up while I was visiting as well. The lady that checked me out said they only had enough stock left for maybe a month or 2 and it'd be gone.

Knob Creek comes off the still at a different proof than normal Beam. I assume the 20 year is standard Beam still proof.
