Mr Ebert is mistaken and severely underestimates how far games have come. Go play Nier:Automata. Get Ending E. And then tell me again video games don't teach you what it means to be human. Go play Hellblade, fight the final boss for 30 minutes, and then tell me again video games aren't art. Go play Andromeda, give Sarissa lip about not playing bodyguard properly, and then later do the same thing to Sloane. Then live with wondering if you're the biggest hypocrite in two galaxies. Video games do these things traditional media cannot even dream of.

Nice video! I think it's just as simple as thinking that, if you get a bunch of artists together for a project (illustrators, animators, composers...), then how can you expect the result to be completely devoid of art?

Very well-covered! Expecting video games to have the kind of masterpieces that come from decades or centuries of human investment in an art form is so wild.

HE SAID VIDEO GAMES CANT CONVEY HUMAN EMOTIONS??? There is a literal 5 MINUTE cutscene in a game I’ve played where the main character is morning the death of her best friend. * Ahem * HOW ON EARTH IS THAT NOT EMOTIONAL???
