I came from the 123gamerman channel. You have a great point with this. I agree with you on this topic. For instance, I found KZitem during a very difficult part of my life. Very much a fork in the road for a lot of things personally. I felt stuck in a hole for an extended period of time but found my way out. One of the things that helped, not got me through, want to be very clear was this platform. I truly believe in most situations, we need to find a positive outlet for us to turn off this, just for a bit. Not fully rely on them but for a moment. Findig a positive outlet with small risk is important. There is way to many negative outlets out there to do this with and the result isnt usually favorable. Great job with the vid and topic on hand. 💪🔥🙌

As an autistic person, I've found the main benefit of games has just been as an excuse to easily stay in touch with friends. I play Heroes of the Storm with people from high school, and it's provided me with a really straightforward way of socializing in an environment where a) we don't have to do a bunch of planning beforehand, and b) we have a built-in thing to talk about. I've never tried it in a therapeutic setting, but I remember as a child my therapist used to play a bunch of board games like Connect 4 with me, and that seems like basically the same premise.

That's awesome! I didn't know! Yeah, video games are really helpful for providing structure to an otherwise unstructured situation. I didn't mention that, but it's a really good point! Also, Connect 4 rules.

Used to use play therapy a lot but more board games. When I was doing work in the field in the early 2000's there obviously were video games but I used them more as a reward (positive reinforcement) for doing good throughout the time I was there (I did my work in the client's home)

I'm starting to make content around this topic. First game I am starting with is old school runescspe because of the wide variety of content in game. The content I'm planning is geared around therapy and education. Literally just made emails and a twitch today. Osrs seems to offer lots of situations to challenge a person. Also calming and rhythm game play as well. I plan to eventually test other games to see what therapeutic and educational experience they offer. Like what developmental phase it can work on. Also what mental health it can challenge or improve.

I would like to watch (if you haven't done yet) an opinion about some studies that claim that FPSs like "Counter Strike: GO" improve some cognitive abilities.

I guess this is the result of the younger generation growing up with video games in the mainstream as opposed to older generations who perhaps didn't play video games as a child.

Definitely! The Atari 2600 only came out 40 years ago. Think about how ubiquitous video games are today. You might say that this outcome was inevitable!

Journey for anxiety. Or something like that 🤔 It strongly incentivizes constructive communication, but my words won't make it justice. Please play it with online co-op activated. It will make you empathize, strive with, and possibly cry for, another human :')

Hmm similar to the now gaining more populairity for kids. I had it. Pmt (maybe Dutch name) It is learning about yourself and all. And also some skills. Like my homework was breathing exercises (yes a 10 year old ADHD kid. Needed to lay flat on back for 10 minutes a day. Looking at the ceiling. Doing a breathing excersize. It was hell. I hate laying on my back. And hated doing it. Now I just meditate. But like I sit up. And regularly use sounds. Or I stare at candle. For 30 minutes.) I don't know if it.did anything.
