I always thought Vulcans were quite capable of lying. They just didn't tell frivolous lies for petty emotional reasons (like humans do). Besides, I'm sure they are logical enough to understand the truth isn't always black & white.

Just a reminder that at the start of ST:VOY, Tuvok was undercover with the Maquis. That's the whole reason half the crew are Maquis. And on ST:Enterprise, T'pal used to be a covert agent. Granted, Tuvok did give an "only under orders" qualifier, so whatever.

It wasn't all pain and broken dreams but I definitely feel for Paris when he talks about what he has on Voyager being better than anything he ever had before. I didn't know what family really was until I met me wife. She and her family showed me what it meant to really love someone.

@@LGranthamsHeir your logic is flawed, but we shan't get into it as per your want
I would say yes, they are capable of lying. After all, Tuvok is a Vulcan and he successfully infiltrated Chakotay's Maquis crew as a spy when they were lost in the Delta Quadrant in the first episode of Voyager. I doubt very seriously, when he asked Chakotay for the job, that he told Chakotay "I am a Starfleet officer who has been assigned to infiltrate your crew and spy on you". Therefore, he had to come up with some sort of cover story to lie his way onto the crew. And then Janeway retrieved him AND the Maquis crew once Voyager was dragged into the Delta Quadrant. In the 2009 movie Star Trek, when young Spock meets Spock Prime, he asks Spock Prime how Kirk managed to keep his secret (when Spock Prime sends Kirk back to the Enterprise, rather than going himself) and after some explanation, young Spock also accuses SP of lying. To which the wise and noble Vulcan says "I IMPLIED...as an act of faith....because you and Jim needed each other." So technically he DID lie.

If you're not sure whether someone is a liar, there's no point asking them whether they lie or not. The answer will be no either way. You need to do something like ask the person standing next to him "Is he like you?" or "If I asked him for an honest answer, what would he say?

How do you get to hell? Very simple: claim that you're innocent. How do you get to heaven? Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy. How to know if you're guilty or not? Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible. Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police. Do not lie. Do not steal. Do not commit adultery. Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word. There are six more but let's just leave it at that. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman. How many times a day do you do that? Do you use God's name as a cuss word? Would you do that with your own mother's name? If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty. God can justly punish you and send you to hell. Ask him for mercy. His name is Jesus. It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine. The fine is death. Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul who sins shall die. That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy. Option A. You die for your own sins. Option B. Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you.
