Did a bit of maths: Taking the car drives 1.11 L/100km, and you're driving 20000 km a year, you'll spend €444 in gas per year (with €2/L of gas). Take that over a true economy car: Fiat 500. This one drives 5.55 L/100km. With 20000 km a year it'll cost €2220 of gas per year. Now, this car is €118000, while the Fiat 500 is €20000... So, while you do save €1776 a year, your ROI is still over 55 years. Not even considering road tax and insurance cost (which in the EU are cheaper for lighter cars). Worth it..? That's up to the user.

The battery [5.5kwh] is also 5 time bigger than many other manufacturer's hybrids that get mid-50 mpg, so there is def a diminishing return for the ratio [and cost] of battery and mpg.
