40:01 Nolan's video on SingStar Guitar got a copyright block, either way I have to fact check a few things about that segment, first off "Them Bones" is not on that game, second it isn't EU Exclusive, yes three of the different versions are from that area but the game also came out in Australia, all 4 regional variants add up to include 66 songs and not 62. Edit: also most of the songs don't appear anywhere else, I counted 19 songs out of all 66 that show up in the others (20 if you count GHL)

Thanks for the corrections! I thought I had seen a clip of Them Bones' solo in Nolan's explanation video, apologies.

I find GH5 PS2 so interesting, because at native resolution, it looks convincing enough since everything's so low res, but when bumped up in PCSX2 it's so obvious lol.

18:30 There's a video that was released a month ago titled. "Untold Story of the worst balanced game ever". Its about how whenever Dead by Daylight had an update they would make changes that would wildly swing the pendulum between the Survivors and the Killers. It also showed how its hard to balance a game for different skill levels because Killers like Freddy Kruger would have high kill rates but only in lower skilled lobbies.

It's funny that Acai is mentioning the RB1 intro at 11:35 when talking about Mad Max because the RB1 and RB2 intros were EXACTLY what I thought of when watching Mad Max. P.S. I'm watching this podcast during my breaks from playing drums on GHWT for PS2. It's ironic that my PS2 is connected to a 55 inch OLED TV using component cables and a Retrotink 4K... probably the most expensive setup ever used to play GHWT on PS2 of all things. I own the game for PC, Mac, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 as well, but maaannnn something about those PS2 SGs just feels so right for me. I know I'm playing the bottom of the barrel version of GHWT otherwise. This shit is ass lol.

I was only today thinking about generative AI and how people are going to be faking voices and videos from now until forever, when I came up with an idea of how to counteract both of those things as their respective technologies continue to improve: (TL;DR: Shit quality videos and harsh vocals are the future of believability.) To make a convincing AI video, it must be well framed, relatively stable, smooth panning (or correctly smeared for fast pans) and contain as little tradition artifacting as possible (compression, low light compensation fuzz, etc) So to me the conclusion is that in the future any video that is the opposite of these is going to be more likely to be real, so these degrading qualities will be purposely implemented to actual footage. The same could also be done for people's voices: AI requires its training data to be relatively clear, decent quality and the source voice to be a consistent tone in order for the AI output to be close enough to considered an impersonation. You know what is naturally inconsistent, beyond intonation and inflection? Distortion, A.K.A. harsh vocals. People could intentionally start naturally implementing vocal fry or utilise their false vocal folds to distort the wave forms of their voice, which is almost impossibly difficult for AI to replicate consistently, because distortion is naturally inconsistent.

I'm sorry, but the "vibe" that Fortnite DBD creates, really isn't even close to Dead by Daylight. But yeah... The DBD community really is terrible. At this point I'm literally just playing to keep up my streak of playing since January 2017, but the community really makes me want to stop. And the players and sometimes also BHVR's streak of being careless, forced me into like taking a break from the game for 8 months. Also, incase any of y'all crap on Michael, Halloween was the first ever licensed DLC that ever released in DBD, and then the devs neglected him and Freddy... He's fun to play if you know exactly how he plays.

Regarding ScoreSpy... As soon as it's gone, I'll just switch to Fret Smasher and YARG. The amount of missing features, just makes CH the worst version of Guitar Hero currently available. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I never really gave the On Tour series a proper go. I thought the wrist thing was pretty uncomfortable, and I didn't like the lack of feedback you get with strumming via the touch screen. I think it's okay for what it was, obviously bound by the limitations of the hardware. But it doesn't compare to the main series. I'd say you have to be a massive fan to want to play those games.

Haven't finished watching this episode but something I disagree with is you guys asking for no lanes. Maybe you were only referring to the guitar ones but from a drummer perspective they're absolutely necessary for some charts. Specially the ones that use digitally generated hi-hats. (Most epic games songs and High hopes).
@acai28

I think we were speaking in terms of Pro Lead and Pro Bass, but yeah there needs to be (working) lanes for drums no doubt. Fast digital hi hats are very prevalent in Festival's setlist so we'll need it
