But its real consequences to having the police called on you often for literally doing nothing, and now you have to try to convince those officers, who are always seemingly skeptical, that you didn't/aren't doing anything. At best its a major inconvenience and having to deal with the law for no reason, at worse......well use your imagination.

The Cadillac was a 91-93 Cadillac Sedan DeVille... it's NOT the Northstar... the 4.9L motor was probably one of the most reliable motors ever put into a fwd Cadillac... a shame, because they are so rock solid that they will probably be semi-collectible some day (for Radwood enthusiasts)

For the kids destroying the car part, I wish they would have had them dressed the same. They dressed the white kids much differently than the black kids. Clothing usually is one of the first things people see, even before color of skin.

Years ago I had my first B3 Passat estate (1.6td, brilliant car!). Cost £110, door handles didn't work... Chucked them, thumb through the hole to open it. Back box went, random straight through pipe attached. Ended up at a massive rave in Trefil Quarry near Tredegar, Wales UK (27 sound systems, made national news...) We had loads of hairspray cans. Did I mention it was white and extremely uncared for? The graffiti was still there the day it got written off...

I thought those early 90s Cadillacs were Cadillac 4.9 engines. That one is a Sedan Deville so I think that is too early to have a Northstar.

I miss my A4. Mine was an absolute sh*t box. It had been written off for vandalism damage, not a straight panel. Had some life left in it thought. Bought it for half a pint of Stella, lasted 18months only costing a tub of gun gum and a couple of cans of WD40.... Great car.

I live near Ridgewood NJ. That kind of reaction is not surprising at all. To be fair, a lot of the people go to that park from all over the county, not just people from Ridgewood. Either way, not the least bit surprising cops were called on black kids sleeping in a car.

It's a 4100 Northstar, 4.1l. I spent many years repairing them when those cars were new.

@@mjc8248 It is not a Northstar. The Northstar engine came out in 1994 I believe. The car shown was a 1993 - 1993 model. The engine in the car shown did not have the weak spot the Northstar did. Why do you call it a Northstar when that name did not exist at the time that Cadillac was made?

@@mjc8248 I hadn't heard the 4.5L or the 4.9 liter engines were unreliable. I rented a lot of them in Vegas and they always performed well. If you are talking about the aluminum 4.1L engine that was used up until 1987, then yes I agree, but that is not the engine that was in the car shown.

@@mexicanspec I worked on all of them and with proper maintenance id say the 4.5 and 4.9 were excellent. The main issues i remember were cooling system related due to improper maintenance. If remember right the trans was also troublesome.

I don't remember that in MIB1 or 2... HOWEVER, it was an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Aire, where Carlton and Will got pulled over and arrested for suspicion of car theft for driving Carlton's father's car.

I assume that's a '93 Deville maybe? Those didn't come with the Northstar unless you'd bought a '96 and misremembered.
