I literally saw this work out like a year or two ago. This mixed with the kipchoge is a good Runners workout combined.

Definitely a great combination of workouts! If the exercises are good enough for those guys, they’ll do for the rest of us! What are you training for at the moment?

@@JamesDunne not until the 15 of next month for a half marathon in April and then after that I will start training for a marathon in October. I'm just building my aerobic base. I don't normally work out due to life and being busy but this fits perfectly as its short and effective

Will be trying this along with the Kipchoge one. I hate crunches and am always looking for varied core exercises so I'll actually do them - I do like to use a gym ball so this will be a great workout for me.

Another awesome strength training video. TY! However, if you don’t have an exercise ball, is it possible to do the “ball exercises” without a ball? If so, will you see and feel the same effect ?

In this video you briefly mentioned the two alternatives of one exercise in 3 sets of reps (eg 12 lunges, rest, 12 lunges, rest, 12 lunges) then moving on to the next; compared to a repeated circuit of 1 set of each (eg 12 lunges, 12 squats, etc). What are the pros and cons of each? I have a bi-weekly gym routine of 12 exercises (2 upper body, 4 legs/glutes, and 6 core/glutes) and have often wondered if it’s best to step through all 12, then rest and repeat; or do one at a time with a rest between each.

If we do a core workout routine like this, how often should we do it a week? And when we do it, should that be a run day or an off day? Lastly, if it's a run day, before or after? Sorry so many questions 😅

If you aim for 3 times weekly on average, alongside your usual running, you'll see good progress :) A core routine like this shouldn't be too taxing on your legs, so you can get away with doing it on either a run or non-run day, it's more a case of when you can fit it in your schedule consistently! If you're performing this type of core workout on a run day, I'd leave it until after your run. Hope that helps :)

Have you got any tips for the twist if your tail bone is agony?

How do you breathe in the Russian twist? (meaning when are u inhaling and when exhaling) I also asked on Mo's post, but I think he is implying to hold the breath, from what he said.

Breathe out as you twist your torso to bring your hands down from the midline towards the ground. Then in as you return to the midline. I do find Mo's explanations a little awkward from time to time. Love the guy (actually went to uni together, fun fact!) but I find his how-to videos a little lacking in detail sometimes!

Thx James. That is how we do the breathing for twists in Iyengar Yoga. I have not tried twits with weight bearing as shown here. I will practice for some time and get back to you. There is a weight bearing twist that we do practice ...I think it's called Maltesean Crosses. I will re-practice my technique which is opposite to what I have been taught. And get back to you if I many?

My Dr suggested core exercises for "Degenertive Disc Disease" However would this circuit be suitable to strengthen the core muscles?
