Dave you’re the best. Doing the exact same project. It was really nice of you to know that and figure out everything ahead of time for me. What are your thoughts on folks that take long hot showers? Did I miss a video on the ventilation and preventing moisture accumulation in the attic

We do have to run a dehumidifier in the summer months, Mike. Here's an update video I did a few weeks ago. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lqWJt5yGr3WnrWU Thanks for the kind comment!

@DIY Dave, also your vent system wasn't clear for me to see how it was ran. Could you provide me with a better picture, so I can see how your fittings were turned, and which ones you used?

@DIY Dave, are you sure you cant cut holes in joists? I've worked around apprentice, journeyman, master plumbers, and they said you can. How are you to run your pipes if you dont cut the holes in them? I'm sure you're going to say underneath the joist, but what if that's not an option? Help A.S.A.P!!!!

You can drill holes in joists, but they can't be larger than 1/3 the depth of the joist, and they also can't be located in the middle third of the joist (lengthwise). So with my 2x6 joists, my holes could not be larger than 1.8 inches [5.5" (joist depth) divided by 3]. If you can't run them through the joists, you might run them in the joist bay till they are over a wall of a room beneath,, then down into the wall and through it till it gets where it needs to go. If the pipes are large, you'll probably have to make the wall thicker, or turn it into a chase. I'm not going to lie. It can be very tricky and more invasive than you might have planned. You just have to stay patient and creative and think of it like a puzzle you're trying to solve. It can be done, though it might take more work. All the best to you!
