Would love to hear more about the “inner work”. “Glow up” seems to neglect the importance of the value of inner peace and contentment and places more focus on the outer looks or impressing others with how we look. Would love to hear more about your inner process- the place that truly counts!

Being over 60, I feel that a glow up is possible for your entire life! There is so much we all can do with healthy choices such as nutrition and exercise. As far as skin goes, it's very scientific these days, of course beginning with sunscreen. A healthy diet goes far with healthy skin and a healthy body. And most importantly the glow up comes from within!

Thank you for saying this! I was watching this video with rapt attention because ever since I bought my first book of Jennifer's, I've been working at bettering myself and my surrounding...but I thought maybe this wasn't for me - I'm 63 after all.... but thanks to Bella the Reader, I will continue my path of learning. And, that was not to say, Jennifer, that you exclude us older ladies but just that I know everyone wants to feel like they have a place in this renewal and advancement! Inside I feel like I am in my thirties but I've let that slip and I am determined not to do that anymore!!

I had a major glow-up at 62. I put myself through "boot camp" - addressing the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical, to emerge from a "rough patch." When you are younger and going through a tough time, you hear "Snap out of it - you have your whole life ahead of you." But in your 60s, there is no guidebook for this. I had to create my own. And it worked. Absolutely.

With all the procedures influencers and stars get these days, it’s incredibly refreshing to see others wanting to embrace one’s true self and lean into aging beautifully. Thank you Jennifer for this message today. It’s a bright spot in a dreary internal day I’m having and yes I am in my 40s. I took my son to a birthday party on Saturday at a bounce house. I wore a long skirt and blouse and a pretty watch. I actually felt quite chic. almost everyone else had on jeans leggings and sneakers. When I got home I felt so silly and ashamed. I thought why didn’t I just dress “normal.” I thought I must have stood out and people must have thought me weird. but your message today really touched me. It’s ok to look different and dare I say stylish when others aren’t “rocking” their style. Thanks for brightening my day Jennifer, teaching me so much and affirming that I’m not alone. 🤍

I’ve only ever heard the term glow up in videos about celebrities and influencers who get fillers, Botox and plastic surgery and they all look so artificial. They usually look better in the ‘before’ photos. I like your take on it. I’m almost 20 years older than you and have my fair share of wrinkles. I’ve considered getting work done but have ruled it out. I’m embracing the aging process while still trying to look and feel my best with skin care, good food, daily exercise and sleep. And of course, dressing presentably. Thanks for always keeping it real Jennifer.

I had baby, after baby, after baby from age 20-25. Finally at 30, my youngest is almost five and I finally feel like myself again - not in the fog of babyhood - but also I feel way better than my former self before the babyhood years! I think you, Jennifer, are one of the most beautiful, classy, youthful looking 40 year old women I have ever seen. I am so looking forward to watching you age. Loved this video. When you were talking about good skin care and embracing our wrinkles (yours are completely invisible by the way) I remembered a sweet interchange between the actress Sandra Bullock and her little son that I had read of in an article many years ago. He was very young at the time, possibly three or thereabouts. She told him she would always love him even when she got older and more wrinkly than she was then. He asked her why she had wrinkles and she replied that she hoped it was from laughing so much. He said "Mommy you're not old, you're just happy." That just melted my heart.

Of course you have a skin care routine. You lived in France! I used my COVID downtime to get my own "glow up" going, even though I had never heard the term. I started IF because of you and my doctor is thrilled. Another KZitemr, Angie from Hot and Flashy sold me on Curology. Those products have really helped my skin texture. And Angela Mashelle suggested clothing by FARM Rio that's helping me find my southern Florida style. Then there are Bob and Brad whose exercise routines I'm now following...KZitem has really been a savior for me the past year and a half. Thank you.

Thank you for this, it's right on time. I'm quickly approaching 40, and have been low key depressed about it. I've been glowing up over the past couple of years, but always feel remorseful that I didn't start much sooner. In many ways I feel that my time has passed for certain things, the focus is now on my kids. I wish so badly that I could have a "do over" for my entire 20s and early 30s, but that's not possible, so I can only do better going forward. I am so appreciative of what you said about aging gracefully. I've started to notice changes in my face, my metabolism, and my energy level. This has been a season of recalibration for sure. But I'm glad to see that it's not all negative.

I just turned 29 this year and for a few years now, I’ve left behind the phase of looking juvenile/literally effortless and moved into looking more elegant, polished, and wearing my nice clothes on the daily. I’ve had comments about looking dressy or questions about where I’m going “looking like that” along with strange looks when I say this is just how I dress! I’ve also had comments about how refreshing it is to see someone dressing elegantly. But none of these comments and questions ever made me feel uncomfortable because I love my style! It suits me very well and I feel so good. I really love how people once dressed elegantly rather regularly, but in recent decades, we’ve really lost sight of that as a whole. In my area, I’m quite unique in the way I style. I also noticed that people take me a little more seriously now even though I still do look rather young. I’m excited for the years to come and the things I will learn!

I knew I would be turning 70 in 2021 so thought it would be a good time for some soul searching. I had had knee replacement surgery the previous year and had in place my schedule of 30 minutes a day on my recumbent exercise bike. I wanted to grow and maintain strength and flexibility in my legs. From that routine I added success in numerous other routines, my devotional life, my menu planning, my music practice, my “ministry” of writing letters and notes to be an encouragement to others. Also reading fiction and nonfiction books, a chapter a day, to keep learning. Watching educational and encouraging you tube videos keeps me motivated. (Thank you, Jennifer) I have chronic health issues so my routines are tools to battle discouragement and passivity. I want my husband to have an interesting and pleasant companion and my grandchildren to have positive memories of their Grandma Carolyn.

My first 'glow up' came about from reading Lessons From Madame Chic right after I turned 51. Ten years later I still refer to it when I need some motivation. This video came at the perfect time - I definitely need a diet and exercise glow up! I would love to see a video on having an inner glow up. As we mature things tend to come up that we've tucked away but now need to work on.

Jennifer, you are such a treasure. Thank you for encouraging women to be ladies, and for being a beacon of grace and dignity in the troubled and confusing world we live in. I just turned 36 last month, and it's so nice to have a role model like you who is just a few years ahead, and can show that approaching one's 40s is nothing to fear :)

Ps. I would love a video on your skincare routine! I have a lot of steps in my skincare routine, too. Eg. Cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer oil, and exfoliant, and mask. It’s one of my most precious rituals, day& night, and I’d love to see what you use.

This topic is very apt to my experience at the moment, lost 40kg as a result of intermittent fasting and that kick started a glow up for me.

I can't wait to see the "inner work" video. This was a pleasant video to watch. I have to agree with you, Jennifer on the comment made about being in your 40's and knowing we have less time. For me that means living mindfully and taking care of myself.

Hi Jennifer! I have been watching your videos for the last two weeks! I just love your content, and your “Stay Calm, and remain classy” quote! I just wanted to tell you, I ordered the Londontown nail polish, “Illuminating Nail Concealer” and just received it today, 11/18/21. I polished my nails immediately upon receiving it, and I absolutely LOVE it! It is so pretty, a nice natural color, and it is just beautiful in natural lighting or sunlight! So pretty! Thank you and Londontown for the discount code! Have a blessed day, Jennifer!

I love this! I turn 40 next year and could use a glow up after 2 kiddos 😅 Hoping as my toddler gets older I’ll look less like the tired hot mess mom and a more rested stylish mom. Thank you for your insight and videos.

I love and appreciate this video so much! I just got 3 of your books and am reading “Lessons from Madame Chic”. I am halfway and loving it! (Your voice reading it is what I hear in my head!) Your segment on your facial routine (though you warned you were “neurotic” about how detailed your are!) gave me such a huge sigh of validation and relief, because I too am very particular about my skincare! I have a towel that I only use for my face, and ever since I was 13 I’ve been very diligent about cleansing and nurturing my skin with good products. Thank you so much for your encouragement about truly owning your personal style. I had previously felt that I was “locked” into a style that everyone thought was “my style” - I was a bit bohemian in my 20s, with flowy skirts, peasant blouses, chunky necklaces, and I liked the Anthropologie/Free People look. But now in my 30s and having 4 children, I find I am drawn towards more conservative, classic style - collared shirts, A-line or pencil skirts, simple pearls, and more of a New England/ Ralph Lauren look. It’s kind of weird to merge these styles and I hope that one day, people will recognize a picture and think of it as something I would wear in my current feminine preppy style, ratter than my older romantic bohemian style. I honestly had been struggling to give myself permission to make such a significant wardrobe transition, thinking that I was changing who I was, rather than realizing that my lifestyle & needs had evolved, and that I was still stuck in a style that I’d worn a decade ago, and it did not currently reflect my personality! There are so many elements about me that are still the same - I have always loved a Safari look, and I have a mini capsule wardrobe with just my favorites that I’ve kept. My QUESTION is: Have you ever had people because you were well-dressed? Recently a mom just stopped wanting to hang out with me. Every time we’d get together for a play date or babysitting, I’d be dressed in my “mom uniform” of a nice shirt, skirt, perhaps a belt & scarf, minimal makeup, and some elevated shoes like flats or loafers. She was always commenting that I’d gotten dressed up, in a way that made me think she was intimidated by me, and I’d kindly reply how getting dressed for myself was a form of self care and I felt better when I did this. She was always wearing black yoga pants, a graphic tee, and I think she felt stressed out comparing herself to me, and just stopped wanting to get together. I’m the ONLY mother I know in my area who breaks the “frumpy” stereotype and makes an effort (though I am terrible at styling my hair, and other moms are awesome at a quick, ornate braid) and I feel like so many other women are judging me negatively by how I show up for the world by dressing nicely. It’s like they already have made up their minds on whether or not they feel comfortable around me or are intimidated by me. For the occasional church activities, I dress like I normally do, in my “mom” uniform, but nearly all the other moms show up in the “Hot Mess” look and there are times where I kind of feel ostracized, like they think my life must be so easy if I got a blouse and skirt/nicer jeggings and did my makeup. But I have 4 kids in the space of 6 years- my life is a hot mess too! Any thoughts?

My style has been jeans , trainers and t shirts and hoodies since I was 19. I’m 47 now and after raising 4 kids I look older than I feel. I’m looking to shake up my style a little and look a little more ‘ polished’ when I go out now. I have started a good skin care regime also and I’m eating healthy, drinking water and exercising 4+ times a week. My teeth need work though,. I have suffered from bulimia on and off and my teeth suffered 😢 I’m now fully better but I’m so embarrassed to smile so veneers are next on my list ( I’m saving up) 😅. Lots of fab tips , thank you !
