It's worth noting that some, if not most, of the videos you see on KZitem about people who allegedly became fluent in Japanese in a short time are clickbait. For example, one video gives the impression that two Americans became fluent almost overnight after only spending a week in Japan. In reality, one of them lived in Japan for over 15 years, while the other spent 10+ years learning Japanese before moving to Japan. If I recall correctly, he started learning the language when he was in middle school. He also attended a Japanese high school in Japan, and becoming good in Japanese is literally his full time job.
