my dude! very hard to find this kinda stuff..I knew it could be done, just wasnt sure about the thermocouple, if it could just be bypassed or what. thanks for posting this

Looks like it may need some capacitors to supply the tool on startup load. Also maybe a higher Amp supply would be more beneficial. All cheaper than a new battery though ha

Yes to all. Like I said in the video, I just did this experiment for fun with no expectation of success. Kind of surprised it worked as well as it did.

@@Engineering_Improvisation yeah definitely. I specifically searched for this in google as i was interested and yours was the first to come up. Great vid 👍

About to do the same. Plenty of power supplies here. But no dewalt batteries. Only for occasional use.

Hi ,I thînk you should find a transformer with a higher current about 10amps,good luck.

I think and I'm not sur you need just a capacitor of 35v" 2000 uf or higher" out of the charger

In pakistan mostly peoples use ised machinea without battery. I have lenovo 20volt 4.5 amp charger and for safety i drop the voltage and now its 17.60 and my dewalt model 18v support. Working fine but in starting it take load but best working with car battery. Jigsaw running good on laptop charger.

2.31A but you should get something higher, around 120watts. What you should be looking for is 18-18.5V with 6-8A Power Supply. Correct me if wrong, please

You are correct. I just did this for fun and to see what would happen - no to be taken too seriously. 🤪

@@Engineering_Improvisation Thank you for this. I got myself today an 18.5v and 6.49A 120watts power supply to plug on the batteries with a proper female socket (just did the two batteries because both were dead and why not?) I kept the battery housing so the driller could stand up hehe All of this with some knowledge of my father and this video. I saw other video saying that you can parallel wire the battery charger, but I was thinking to myself: "wouldn't you getting less torque (amps) this way? Thanks for information and inspiration!

The way you throw your tools around I’m surprised they last that long?

It may seem like it, but I'm not. These tools are over 20 years old and I use them all the time. Especially the drill.

you need a 5.5 ampere

Why didn't you show it driving screws??? Next time prepare before filming

🤣 If it stalls out before the trigger is fully depressed, what makes you think it would drive a screw? 🤣

and please tell me. 14.4v drill hiw much ampair need for good work.

The amps required to operate the tool will be dependent on the tool itself. My 18v drill will probably require 5 amps or more to operate with no load whereas the jigsaw will likely need more. The only way to know for sure is to do a load test during operation. Hope that helps.

for 14.4v drill you need a 14.4v or higher with 7a + to work
