Magnificent and amazing ! I hope that railroad transportation will not vanish on the continent of North America. The railroad along with the beautiful landscape is the precious human and natural heritage. Thank you, Mr. SantaFe5811.

Excellent video. As a Calgarian now for 45 years have been through there several times by road or train, on the way to or from Vancouver or the Island, since the early 60s. Take a bow for a job well done and great angles. Been to everyone of the places you shot from, taking slides in those days. Was impressed with the bighorn sheep on the tracks, otherwise, I don’t really go gaga for long trains.

Been on both sides of the river on the passenger bak in 1960.The cars were beautiful food was great and sleepimg on the train. My Father was a Carman in Sumas so all our travel was free back to Manitoba . For a kid it was a wild adventure we went for a couple years in a row.

Nice video. Especially great that you were lucky enough to get a couple of Mountain Sheep along the tracks at Lasha just prior to the Westbound CP Grain Train getting there. I live in Ashcroft BC not far from there and unfortunately a CP train killed a mountain sheep just a little east of Ashcroft a couple of years ago.

Empty eastbounds are probably in shuttle service between tidewater and the bread basket and ar being hussled back for reloading. However, empty westbounds are puzzling indeed.

At 11:20 you identify a Canadian Pacific train but it's being pulled, and pushed by Canadian National units. Is this a simple mistake or is this train on CP tracks with borrowed or leased motive power?
@geronimo957

@Coalforge

This is at Cisco, about 6 miles south of Lytton. The first railroad, Canadian Pacific, built up the easiest side of the river. When the second line, Canadian National, was built, they needed to use the other side of the Frazier canyon.
