Interesting that supply management wasn't discussed, which is built on, essentially, the same principles as the former Soviet Union's (failed) economy. Or the Robertson screw, which was the best design for it's time but can be found virtually nowhere in the world. The American Phillips screw, on the other hand......... I've been listening to various talking heads opine about the lack of productivity for over 30 years. The problem has only gotten worse. I was a tax accountant for three years. Nobody cared about how much they paid in taxes. Nobody bothered with personal budgets. Nobody was interested in financial literacy. All they were interested in was how much they had to pay out-of-pocket or how much they'd get for a refund. So it's not hard to see why few are interested in productivity or anything to do with commerce.
