Located about 100 miles North of Waswanipi, Quebec Province, Canada, this 50,000 acre lake never fails to produce large quantities of fish (about 95% Walleye, 5% Northern Pike). In six days, we averaged 86 fish per day for a total of 516 fish for the trip, including a one day record of 183 fish. From Waswanipi, the lake is located about 100 miles North, accessed by a power line gravel road 108.5 miles in length, the last 9 miles of which have not been maintained in over two decades. The 108.5 mile road took seven hours to traverse this trip, a bit shorter than its usual eight hour ordeal. Water levels at the lake this year were the lowest since we began fishing this lake in 1994, resulting in a 100 yard drag of boat and equipment just to launch the boat in six inches of water, and another quarter mile down the bay until we were finally able to drop the motor into the water to be under engine power.
