And watching this I forgot about the DSM. (Drill Sergeant Major) who is also an MWO, he would be the senior MWO in the BN.

I though the Private Trained rank was given after BMQ?

So does a command chief warrent officer still get out ranked by a 21 year old lieutenant?

Nicely done Tigger, clear and concise! My only question is that for BMQ/Basic Training, is the rank of a "drill instructor" a Master Corporal or perhaps even in a Sergeant during your time in service? I have also noticed you have watched a Battle Order video on the 75th US Army Rangers, Battle Order had made a very detailed video on the modern Canadian Mechanized Infantry Battalion, and that you being former RCR Infantrymen, I want to see your take on it! kzitem.info/news/bejne/x5x50n6GgJp3l34

@CluelessSoldier-0669 Thanks for watching CS. I will check out the Video. Canada has no concept of a "Drill Instructor" as the USA does. Everyone who successfully passes their 6A course is qualified to instruct at either Basic or Battle school (Including Drill). These instructors generally follow the same structure and Ranks as the Battalion except for the fact that you will see both MCpl's and Sgt's as Section commanders (You generally see more Sgt Sect Cmdr's here than you would in Bn), and it is not unheard of to see an MCpl as a Section Cmdr and another MCpl as the Section 2i/c. The Pl 2i/c might sometimes be a Sgt, but more often than not will be a WO. (Warrant Officer), so much so that the Pl 2i/c position is more commonly known as a Pl WO position. The closest equivalent Canada might have to a "Drill Instructor" would be known as the "Marching NCO" this is a duty that is rotated between all of the instructors on the course (Sect Cmd, Sect 2 i/c and Pl WO) on a daily basis. This person is generally responsible for the Dress, Deportment and Discipline of the entire course for the day. I hope this helps

@@DarthTigger 6A? Damn yer old. 3A, and it became modular so you could take 3 years to pass the course, then as you're well aware it could take several years more before you actually get promoted. Thats just the beginning of the numerical changes to course names.

@CluelessSoldier-0669 I am going to review that video that you posted above but I am going to try and convince @Schneb to join me on it. There are some inaccuracies in the video, at least from the perspective of 1 RCR. Stay tuned.

MCpl is a section 2ic and Sgt is a section commander.

That is on paper. When I was in, I saw a Sgt as a section commander probably 40% of the time, the rest of the time it was a Master Corporal. I was never a 2i/c as an MCpl, I was always a Section commander.
