Hi James, Great video, it was exactly what I'd been searching for. I'm a Canadian resident with a new LLC in Wyoming and looking for some tax advice. I'd like to book a call but I'd like to speak with you specifically if that is at all possible.

Hello, I have a specific question, hopefully you could help me. Most people recommend LLCs to operate a business in US as a non resident, however, I am a Canadian resident would that be the same case or would I be better off with a Corporation, tax wise. Appreciate the help

Hi. This depends, sometimes LLCs are not the best option for everyone, for Canadians LLCs are a good tool. To schedule a call with my team lt.jamesbakercpa.com/jbytcomment

What about those Canadians who are already in USA on non-work visa? How can we set up an LLC in a way that will not cause problems with immigration services and will not create problems with getting permanent residency in USA?

While paying the foreign holding company, I am assuming as expenses, you will have to fill form W8-BEN-E. since there is no Tax treaty with UAE, the default withhold rate will be 30%. Even in case of US LLC owned by foreign owner directly, you have to fill W8-BEN, which will lead to same issue of 30% withholding rate. Effectively it will come to asking for refund from IRS. Also many clients don't work with Foreign owned corp, but alright to work with a C corp, since they can issue W9 and no need for withholding. C corp can transfer money as expenses to Foreign firms/owners again with 30% Withholding. Is there any way to get away from this withholding rate?

Hi Chintan, thank you for watching. There is only a 30% withholding on FDAP income. Dividends, interest, royalties etc. Regular business expenses are not subject to 30% withholding.

Your online shopify/amazon CLIENTS are in the US. You have to charge state sales tax depending on where your clients live because that is where the sale is occurring. How can this NOT be considered doing business in the US (and so not taxable)?

The states have economic Nexus rules for sales taxes. The US government federal tax system does not have a concept of economic Nexus for income taxes. The sale is occurring online.

I'm in a very similar boat. Canadian resident looking to sell physical goods online in the US (eventually expand internationally). I want to get started registering the company along with any trademarks. The other component is taking advantage of the UAE tax system. From my preliminary research, initial startup fees are involved with the free zones. That would eat in to the manufacturing budget so registering the company locally and moving the business in the future is more feasible (Setting up a US LLC would be in the books as well). My question, where should the sole proprietorship and trademark be registered? I heard there are benefits for bank accounts and taxes (already have a US bank account so that's not really an issue).

I have a question! I am a Canadian citizen however I also have US permanent residency. I have been going back and forth from Canada to USA and currently I am residing in Canada. I am also going to be running a Shopify store as well as an Etsy shop. Do you know if I would save more money in taxes if I start my business in US or in Canada? I plan to sell my products and services in USD and also like my USD bank account. I'm stuck on whether I should open my business in Canada or USA since this is all on the internet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

These past few days watching my crypto portfolio decline is very disheartening. Holding doesn't really profit much. Any idea on how to earn better on the short run?

hi guys I do have crypto investments, but my topic mainly is taxes, I try to divide my investment into consolidated currencies and alternative currencies, something like 60/40, and avoid keeping it there for long
