For all music lovers - not just for railway fans. Bold sweeping and beautiful music delivered to you by the Tempus Choral Society from their "Ovations" CD.

In "The Canadian Railroad Trilogy" three great powerful melodies work together to transport you across the ages - from prehistory, to today. You will glimpse at the greatest engineering challenge of the 19th century - a transcontinental railway stretching thousands of miles across hostile muskeg, swamp, forest, river canyons, mountains, desert, rocky shield, dirtland and prairies.
Gordon Lightfoot's great patriotic composition is presented in a way that appeals universally.
The accompanying Kim Ridout video brings you rare scenes of rail workers hammering, rails making their way across a great land, and modern scenic vistas crossed by rail today.
In May 2011 the Tempus Choral Society will host the amazing German choir "Joyful Voices" on their Canadian tour.
The Tempus Choral Society has developed a unique voice though its diverse mix of talents from teachers, police, engineers, students, business folks, computer specialists, doctors librarians and even a chimney sweep. Combining voices of lifetime passion (Tempus was originally an award-winning youth choir) with additional voices (from music teachers to passionate choir newbies) Tempus brings the sound of today that is unmistakably soul-touching.
Spin-off musical groups come together to perform at the Spring Concert and Christmas performances.
This year Tempus performed with the Hamilton Youth Orchestra at Hamilton's Centenary United Church.
Last year they participated in the Charleston International Music Festival in South Carolina.
Special thanks to St.John's United Church in Oakville for its generous use of its facilities.
