There was an emu war in Australia. The emus fought against the Australian army and won. Also the main animals to be aware of are the crocodiles..but if you stay out of the water where they inhabit then you will be ok. I live in an area where snakes are common but if you take care you will be ok Also I’m a nurse and it’s not uncommon for me to do a double shift.. it’s brutal so for example I start at 1.30pm in the arvo and finish and 7am next day And I’m going to see furiosa this wk.. I’m dying to see all the Aussie actors especially Chris Hemsworth

Hi, just discovered you channel - love that you are learning about Australia :) and keep up the great work :) just a couple of things 1. the highway does go around the continent like you predicted and not the star pattern shown in the video. 2. 'the dingo ate my baby' I know it's a very common saying for people (especially those overseas) to say, but just letting you know it's now in pretty poor taste - for your info, it is based (on now what we know to be true) real life events and the family went through hell here in Australia - I am sure if you look it up you will get the gist 3. lol we already had an Emu war!! last thing we want is a Roo war!! :) 4. Hungry Jack is called that because there was already a registered Burger King established in Australia Cheers - from Australia

Back in the early days, it was a crime to show skin in public. No such thing as bathing suits back then. They eventually built "Bathing Boxes" a funny little timber mini house that stood half in the water and half out so you could step inside clothed, open the door to the sea-side of it and dunk yourself from the steps without being seen by anyone. You have to remember that prior to the 1960's, the entire world was pretty much filled with prudes 😂

It was illegal to swim at the beach in all western countries because it was seen as indecent...Australia was the first to allow it... Videos like this find truths but don't explain the details making the point confusing. BTW every Australian and New Zealander, as well as any person from any other country from around the world that have visited Australia will know without a doubt that you sound like a Cockney pirate from the UK while you are trying to replicate the Australian accent.

So many mistakes in this, here’s a few. Highway 1 basically follows the coast within about 20 kilometres right around the country only heading inland in a few places. Platypuses don’t bite you, the male platypus has a venomous spur on its hind leg it uses for defence. The north south distance is measured from the top of Cape York to the southern most tip of Tasmania, not where he had it. He kept mentioning our unique animals while showing graphics of African animals. If he spent more time being accurate and less time making jokes even a Dad would be ashamed of it would help.

Camels were imported into Australia in the 1840's for exploration and transport into the desert before automobiles. As a result, Australia has worlds highest number of Feral Camels. Although feral, they come from a disease-free country and are exported live for breeding stock in the middle-east, meat consumption and for use in tourist venues in places such as the USA

The number of kangaroos varies greatly from year to year. When we get to 40 million, there’s a lot more kangaroo meat in the supermarkets. Since white man arrived in Australia, we have been adding things to the natural environment that don’t belong there: rabbits, camels, cotton growing, etc that upset the balance of our native flora and fauna. This is also why our Border Security, Customs and Immigration have become so strict in the last twenty five years, because we have learned the hard way about protecting our citizens, our food supply and our native wildlife! Watch episodes of Border Security on their YT channel.

Regarding shows about Kangaroos. Back in 70’s there was a famous Kids show called Skippy. Basically it was something similar to Lassie and Flipper. But “Skip” (aka Skippy) was portrayed as being a lot smarter. A bit cringe worthy now, but it was a kids show, and quite a famous one for it’s time too. And the jingle wasn’t half bad either. It’s on KZitem if you’re curious. Cheers

Re sea-bathing, almost everywhere in the world was culturally prudish. Being British, culturally, we copied British mores and standards. Since the British had no tradition of sea-bathing, neither did Australia. It took decades of gradual steps to create the beach culture of Oz.

G’day Again. You asked for comments and suggestions about our (so called) deadly Animals and Insects etc. personally, I think coming across a grizzly or a polar bear, would be worse than most of our stuff. Sure the Crocs can react really fast, and grab you. But that’s only in the top end, we can usually avoid most of the rest, that is we are even aware of them being nearby. Most of them simply want to get away. Here is a very good set of videos to react to, that covers this in an entertaining way. And it’s actually Australian too. This video I chose for you is in regards to the famous (And Huge) Huntsman Spider. Yes, it hunts, but if doesn’t hunt men. In fact they can coexist in your house just fine, as long as they don’t freak you out that is. They are a big big after all. This lady is a scientist and is on a number of the ABC’s (Australian Broadcasting Commission, a publicly owned government run media channel) science based shows. She also covers some of our truly dangerous animals and insects/spiders too. It would be good for a reaction channel, to finally react to to some truly fair dinkum Aussie stuff. And this is rather entertaining example. See for yourself and judge. kzitem.info/news/bejne/t2igrX9rp5uCeHYsi=jC0T7o1eoir7cpxP

Regrettably these animated videos perpetuate a number of myths about Australia which refuse to die. Kangaroos can (but almost never do because why would they?) slowly hop backwards using their tail for balance. Emus can also walk backwards (but almost never do because why would they?) and there's a fascinating KZitem video of a lady putting a bucket over an emu's head and, lo and behold, it walks backwards. The architect of the Sydney Opera House did not have the idea come to him while peeling an orange. Jørn Utzon, the original architect, was agonising over the design of the roofing while looking at parabolic and ellipsoid designs and realised that maybe they could be modelled on the curvature of a sphere. They do not "form a perfect sphere". This is all documented on the Opera House website. Also Australia doesn't get more snow than Switzerland. This myth refuses to go away after it was born out of a 1950s newsreel documentary, but there is absolutely no evidence presented anywhere that Australia gets more snow than Switzerland, and a lot of snowfall data to contradict it.

A lot of this content is, let's say, not 100% factual, for example, the "longest" highway basically runs around the country not straight between cities. Don't take videos made by Americans or other foreign "documentaries" too seriously. BTW....Flora equals plants....Fauna equals animals. Enjoyed your reactions.🦘🦘🦘 Oh....and the camels....These were bought here in the 1800s to help travel and develop the "Outback" and when no longer needed they were released and became feral. There are now more than 300,000 feral camels in Australia. Apparently we even export them back to the Middle East.🐪🐪🐪😎

G’day Mate. As I’ve said before, check out the comments first. It will help you. As some others have pointed out, This is one of the most notorious videos out there, that’s done by a foreigner. Another even far worse one, was by a channel called the Mind Warehouse. The point being is that we have We have a Aussie KZitemr/comedian, who btw really loves to swear, a lot (even by some Aussie standards, so you have been warned). So he reacted to this travesty of a video, about Australia. It wasn’t pretty. But it was funny. And he made a point too. Which is the crux of my own bit of advice to you. So if you don’t mind reacting to reaction videos (it has been done). This will be educational indeed. At least you will get a taste of some milder forms of Aussie swearing (yes it is mild). kzitem.info/news/bejne/1WerwI6VsYSKqYYsi=-6h3KIk6CfY3sDCK

I had to put this in a separate comment, as it would have tainted the positivity of the other one I made. Yes, we are well aware of the poor attempt at humour on the Seinfeld Show, regarding the Dingo ate my Baby line. The sad death of baby Azaria Chamberlain, shouldn’t ever have been made a meme, ever. But it’s NOT A JOKE and it definitely was not at all funny at the time either. In fact it never was nor will it ever be funny either. I know, as I grew up during that decade long tragedy. Yes it did last for a very long time in our collective consciousness. And for many of us, it still does. It also didn’t help having a non Australian (doing an absolutely atrocious attempt at an accent too btw) play the part of poor Lindy Chamberlain, the lady who lost her baby, in a badly written movie. And the truly bad accent, ad well as how it was acted out, is what helped it become so infamous, and that was truly unfortunate indeed. The media frenzy was incredibly intense and it lingered on for so many years too. And that’s not an exaggeration either. As there were constant odd new facts about the case. It was a case that literally split the entire country, and for some it still does. As the debate of wether it was an actual accident or instead a sick murder, still surfaces on occasion (at least this is getting rarer). I’m fully aware that you are completely and totally unaware of any of this. And that you had no idea at all that most Australians who where around at the time, will be upset by this. So don’t get me wrong, I’m not at all even slightly angry or upset with you, but rather I’m still angry at the sad circumstances that are beyond anyone’s control, that keeps that stupidly poor excuse for what passes as American humour, still alive in everyone’s consciousness. Yes, the movie did the initial harm, but at least they weren’t trying to trivialise any of it. Not like that stupid Seinfeld joke. And if really was very confrontational too, a very sick joke indeed. This won’t stop me watching your reactions though. Because like I said, we all know that foreigners will be completely ignorant over this. There are very few things that will trigger Aussies like this did. And to digress just a bit, and to give you another bit of sincere advice. I will add that the other obvious one is Saying “Happy Anzac Day”. Once again this has been a totally innocent remark by certain Americans, who certainly weren’t trying to be offensive. But yet it still was and is. So if you happen to watch any Anzac related content, especially around Anzac Day. Please don’t make that mistake. Btw. Anzac stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Core. That first saw action on the shores of Gallipoli. And here is the relatively interesting thing that you might find interesting about that. The Newfoundlanders, were the Only North Americans, to fight in that famous battle. And yes I know that Newfoundland wasn’t yet a part of Canada at that time, but still it’s interesting none the same.
