Boxing is a "beautiful" sport that has the greatest potential for racism in it, yet at the same exact time it is capable of displays that can transcend race in a huge manner. I believe in our shared human race. If you see me hurting, I believe that you would help me, just as I would come to help you should I see you hurting. Race is not a "real" thing, it's a made up construct that is only as real as we feed into it, just like money. I'm happy that you are able to get happiness from others joy, it's a real sign of humanity. We all need to take care of eachother more often than we have been doing. That goes for everyone. Well actually I think he was referring to Mexican Americans my friend. My Dad is from Mexico a small town called Rio Laja in the State of Guanajuato located next to Dolores Hidalgo in Guanajuato. He came to the United States and wanted to come to Goliad, Texas the town renamed after Father Hidalgo the priest in the church in Dolores. He did he met my mom and the rest is history. My point we do celebrate here, not Mexico but we do and this is why a little Wikipedia for you. In 1829, the name of the Mexican Texas village of La Bahía was changed to "Goliad", believed to be an anagram of Hidalgo (omitting the silent initial "H"), in honor of the patriot priest Miguel Hidalgo, the father of the Mexican War of Independence.[21] On October 9, 1835, in the early days of the Texas Revolution, a group of Anglo-American immigrants attacked the presidio in the Battle of Goliad. The Mexican garrison quickly surrendered, leaving the Anglo-Americans in control of the fort. The first declaration of independence of the Republic of Texas was signed here on December 20, 1835. Anglo-Americans held the area until March 1836, when their garrison under Colonel James Fannin was defeated at the nearby Battle of Coleto. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, then President of Mexico, ordered that all survivors were to be executed. On Palm Sunday, March 27, 1836, in what was later called the Goliad Massacre, 303 were marched out of the fort to be executed, and 39 were executed inside the presidio (20 prisoners were spared because they were either physicians or medical attendants); 342 men were killed and 28 escaped.[22] The famous Mexican General Ignacio Zaragoza was born in Goliad in 1829. He commanded the forces resisting the French Army in the Battle of Puebla, now celebrated as Cinco de Mayo on May 5, 1862.
@Morales.1192
2 жыл бұрын
The reasons they celebrate it is because thanks to Mexico, it stopped France, and gave the United States time to reorganize and supply the Mexicans, after they had their civil war. France was allied with the confederates and wanted to establish themselves in the Americas, while destabilizeing The United States. As they saw the US becoming a great power, and threat. Thanks to Abraham Lincolns relationship with Benito Juarez, The French were kicked out of Mexico. (That's the real reason, but yeah many people think it's Mexican independence day. It's actually tonight, September 16 so Viva 🇲🇽 )

It is crazy that n 2013 He was 42-0 The Junior Middle Weight Lineal ,Ring Magazine WBC,IBF,WBO World Champion at the age of 23 with about 7 Title Defenses .He gets schooled by Floyd and ends up winning back Junior Middle Titles Floyd went back to 147 .From 2014 to now He has Won Titles n 4 Weight Classes The IBF ,WBO,WBA ,Lineal and Ring Maybe the WBC at some point through by the end of 2018 .He Moved up to Light Heavy Weight n 2019 ,He Dropped down started has Won 3 Titles at 168 and i think 1 more at 175 n 2020 .Canelo started out at 147.and won.some kind of Titles at that Weight ,He has like 56.Wins -1 Loss -2 Draws and really at worse Maybe U could argue He loss to Triple G and the 2nd was a Draw So He would have 2 Losses n His Career..Or they split the Wins Triple G won 1 and Canelo Won 1 at Best but Canelo is only 30 is on the path to have a better career than Manny Pac-man Canelo will have 67 Wins If He has 2 Wins a year up to age 35 and retires .Pacman has 7 losses and 2 Draws .At most Canelo would get 2 losses and about 10 more wins or 12 Wins No Losses. I see Him getting all the Belts at 168 and defending them 4 to 5 times ,Winning 1 or 2 World Titles at Light Heavy Weight and defending the Titles 4 Times or so
