So, I've been a Walther fan for a long time. My primary carry has, for over 10 years, been a PPS M1 which is also the pistol with which I shoot the best out of all of my pistols, including the PDP Full Size. I have been waiting for two years now for Walther to drop a Micro 9 PPS M3 to compete with the P365 because I love my PPS M1 so much and have been unwilling to settle for anything less than a new 1.5x stack from Ulm... but I have now decided to put down the PPS and pick up the MC9 for my new carry pistol, thanks in large part to your review videos. The first MC9 that I see in the store for $400 out the door I will buy it and send a nasty email to Walther to let them know how disappointed I am in their inability to keep up with the Turks, who were able to take Walther's own designs, improve on them, and even INNOVATE to produce a better handing and shooting pistol than Walther could! Walther was able to create one of the first and best subcompact carry pistols on the market with the PPS, but seem to have been afraid or unwilling to even follow major market trends and they deserve to lose out to Canik if they can't get their act together. (Although, the PDP F Series is also a great one). Perhaps if Walther had even dropped a hint that they were planning a new Micro 9 I'd be willing to wait, but Walther is always so tight lipped about their projects. Anyway, thanks again for the thorough review and keep up the great work!

I totally agree especially with this canik being so slim and able to accept the full size mags. This makes the mc9 even more desirable. I have the Pdp as well and love everything about it. It would be ideal to shrink the f series with compatible mags will be a no brainer.

Very nice. That was the most accurate shooting I've ever seen you two do, regardless of gun size. Says a lot about the gun. I'm sure the failure to feed is going to be a really big deal to some viewers. I have no concern about it since I don't use the slide stop lever to release the slide. It feeds when fired, and that's what's important. Most guns and/or magazines seem to like a bit of break in as well. Hopefully more gun channels will get their hands on an MC9 soon to see if they encounter the same.

I have the TP9 SA, TP9 V2, TP9 SFX, SFX Rival Darkside, as well as the Tristar T100, also made by Canik. In a couple days I will be picking up this same black/fde Mete MC9, planning on it being my cc choice, can't wait to get it in my hands!! However, I think the V2 has been largely overlooked in the Canik lineup, how many know it actually does decock to true DA mode, then SA from then on? Just like a lot of hammer fired guns, but the V2 is still striker fired! Plus, the V2 trigger is silky smooth to the wall, then a nice clean break, just like other Caniks! I don't know if you have reviewed the V2, but if u haven't and want to, I'll send you mine.... really! Just let me know, and it will be on the way to you!

Just got my METE MC9. From my experience, it’s going to take some time breaking it in to where it runs smooth. Slide was difficult to rack; 3 light primer strikes (2 with 115gr Blazer Brass, 1 with Fiocchi 124gr - the 147 grain had no issues); half a dozen failure to go into battery; mag release was stiff and 12 round mag had trouble releasing (the 15 round mag was ok); and the takedown buttons on both sides of the frame were darn near impossible to move. The good news is it shoots really well although the trigger needs some more dryfire/livefire to smooth out - today was just 75 rounds. My MC9 was assembled 2/2/23 and has a serial number less than 500. Almost forgot - the recoil was not snappy like a small gun. Very controllable, especially with 147gr.

12:49 My Elite SC has done that 2 times. I think it was the slide catch not fully engaged and barely holding on. So the slightest movement released it and the slide closed on me.

I’ve been binge watching Mete MC9 content. The closest I’ve gotten to this class of pistol was a G26 and I didn’t ever love it and there was zero gain bec I was carrying it with G19 mags.

Very good review, also liked the comparison between the two models. You have a great and informative channel, and your 'what's for dinner' is commendable for those who cannot decide on what ammunition to utilize in theirs. Cheers to you both!

Thanks! It can be super unsettling to get a new gun and then have it now work. One of the major causes of that can be ammo, but when you've just bought a gun it's easy to forget the ammo you already had might be the issue with that particular gun; that's one of the many reasons we do What's For Dinner.
