If you lightly Brown pasta in the oven for 10ish minutes on 350 works perfect for canning especially when you makes vats of soup to jar up for kids lol we have it for dinner and I jar up 15 or so jars for my shelf, the browned pasta texture is perfect after canning, even after cooking them twice as long before canning

I don't see a problem canning this. Yes it's me again from the alphabet agency! When I lived in Morocco every now and then I would crave Chef Boyardee or what used to be franco-american SpaghettiOs so badly that I would be in the bed weeping. So I figured out how to make them and the one thing that was missing and it was tasting flat was cheese there is a good amount of cheese in these canned pastas and once I added cheese it was beautiful! :-) creamette isn't even in our stores so I get my rings from Amazon really really cheap!

Yes, I re-can pasta sauces on a fairly regular basis, because a big jar is way too much for me. I usually go 20 minutes for half pints and pints, and I believe it is 25 minutes for quarts.

Question. I noticed you can a lot with half pints (I can using pints) With half pints, do you still fill the canner with 3 inches (3qts) water? Curious if it would submerge the jars... Thanks for the vid!
@FyreflyesFollies
2 жыл бұрын
sometimes my jars are submerged slightly. sometimes I add jars of water to the bottom layer and lay a rack on top of them if I am doing a small batch with nothing else to go in with it. Since I usually can in small batches, I try to combine multiple items with the same processing times in a single canner run when I am able.

I also canner smaller amount in half pints, reason I am single and do not like left-over. I being re-using store jars and the lug lids and when they get worn. I use a Ball #10 glass lid with Weck jar seal ( lipped ) and Weck clips. Thanks for post your canning!
