Thank you for a straight to the point and thorough video - I would definitely like to buy one of these cameras in the future!

I've been keeping my eye out for one of these. I've owned all the 1dxs at one time but non of the earlier 1d bodies.

Thank you for the video. Got mine in late 2021 from B&H used department at 1k dollars with a shutter count of 42k. Never had to look back since then. A gem of a camera. I use it for wildlife photography mostly. However, it can nicely handle other genre like landscape, street and indoor photography at ease. For wildlife shots, I pair it with EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II + EF 2x III producing an effective focal length of 780mm. Can also handhold this combo for a while but mostly use it tripod or monopod mounted. Cannot even think of mirrorless cameras due to their EVF lag and poor battery life. A similar mirrorless combo isn't going to be any lighter therefore, weight saving issue is irrelevant here. And I love the form factor. Always feel like having a camera in hand whenever I hold a DSLR, rest are toys. Being purely a hobbyist, don't see anything that mirrorless cameras can do and mine doesn't. Don't care about video option, that's not my cup of tea. However, when I feel like recording a few casual clips, use my smartphone. Thanks again.

I still have the Mark III and going strong! Considering upgrading but I may just keep it forever.

In photography, "upgrade" is a term I don't like, because 9/10 times we have skill issues, not equipment issues.

@@aaronmoore3050Yes absolutely. I’m going through a phase. I studying cinematographers & when you go back decades & look at how master filmmakers made films with limited technology it’s amazing. It all boils down to skill & not spec.

Totally agree and I still use mine alongside my 1DX MkII. Whilst there is obviously a major upgrade on the sensor of the 1DX MkII so that for the most challenging lighting conditions, that is what I'll use but otherwise the 1D MkIV is still a very good performer. I picked my copy up for £350 with 40K shutter actuations and in pretty mint condition so brilliant value for money and as I live on the coast and do landscapes and wildlife, the weather sealing is really important, it is the UK afterall :)

This body was the start of the 1DX series has a precursor camera. The spec of this jumped from 10 megapixels on the 1D Mark III to a decent 16 megapixels. I have 2 of these has I am using these to restart my journey has a sports photographer.

Hi thanks for commenting and glad your enjoying.. Similar build, not much size difference as the 1dx is a few mm bigger in dimensions and the 1dx is a bit heavier as well making it even more of a tank 😀

Only 2000 shutter count so it's new in all reality.
