The M.R. James ghost story set in St. Bertrand de Comminges, SW France. As far as we know, this is the first time the story has been made into a drama film, as opposed to a reading on video, or a radio/podcast. For some reason KZitem won't play the film in HD after numerous compression changes and uploads (it was shot in full 1080p), but we feel that it still acceptable at 480p even though the version here does not match the original in any way. We will endeavour to sort this out in due course. The film was shot entirely on location in the south of France and follows the original story more or less completely with a few additions. To answer some of the questions posed by our film making guests, we wanted to use this film to show them that it is possible to make an entertaining film with very little means (no budget at all) and two people. Daniel played the sacristan and did some camera work and Simon played Dennistoun plus directed, did camera, lights, sound and props. He also edited the film (in Final Cut Pro). The sound was a combination of external sync digital recordings where possible, the rest being from two camera mics. Obviously, for the editing, you need someone who knows the job but for the rest, just a bit of imagination and some organisation lead you to a fantastic and rewarding experience...
