How would this le s perform for video? For example how long is the focus range? Would u recommend me to use this lens for a low budget short film am working on?

It will perform fine for video but of course the aperture is clicked but outside of that it will produce some beautiful images

@@btonelli would you recommend it tho?
@btonelli

@@abraxamovic yes it’s a good camera. Feature wise it’s similar to the F3. I found the F3 to be slightly smoother in its feel vs the Canon but this was part of Nikons strength back in the day compared to Canon.

Thanks Bobby! Blimey, they are expensive, but I guess it's less than 1/2 the price of the RF version!

I have one with a Lens Doctor conversion, so it goes straight onto my 5Diii or R5 with a regular adaptor. It does have a special quality, especially for portraits.

Hey Bobby. Love your work. I think there will be some growing pains with the new channel, but I encourage you to keep going. I am a bit surprised you don’t have more subscribers yet but I think it’s only a matter of time.

Hi, I have a question. My gf she has a canon T70 and is really big into film cameras. Her birthday is coming up and I was wondering if it’s better to get a T90 or the F-1N newer version? Or would it be better to just buy a much better lens and have her keep the T70 that has the 50mm. She mainly takes landscape and portrait shots and will be taking more portrait shots once our new born is born.

Thanks for commenting. Depends on your girlfriends camera preferences. The T90 has more electronics in it and more advanced so it makes the camera easier to shoot with but the downside is if the electronics fail then there is really not much to do to fix it. The F1N has less features than the T70 but a more classic look. Lenses are always worth the investment if you get a good one. There are some nice options in the FD range and in film it’s lenses that make a bigger difference image quality wise vs the camera. Camera choices are based on features, feel and ease of use

For my tuppenceworth the f1 is much more robust than the t90 i have owned both that t90 can 3:33 be trouble error codes etc look at the ef 35 mm camera based on f1 chassis but a fraction of the price just cant remove prism or fit motordive but excellent camera

Thank you!! Was going to adapt it but difficult to find FD adapters to the GFX and also I don’t think this lens would resolve the sensor that well. I feel 45-50MP is the sweet spot

As the owner of the F1n (original version), EF and A-1 35mm SLRs, and has contemplated this particular lens over the past year, really enjoyed this. Both Canon and Nikon made some truly epic stuff back in the day, with a few lenses that were real hall-of-famers and still render well today on digital.

@@btonelli Thanks for the kind words; much appreciated. Another epic piece of manual focus glass is the Nikon 180mm f/2.8 AiS lens (Nikon's classic PJ optic). I've used it on set with my Z6II before getting the new Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S, and was frankly blown away at how good that 40+ year-old optic still is (which suggests it was *way* over-designed for the film era). Looking forward to your F-1 review...

I’ll have to source for the 180 and try it out. Yes F-1 review coming soon
