What you'll find out is a lot of KZitemrs don't produce any content outside of their KZitem channel. It's often a huge difference between how a KZitemr uses gear and how the outside world uses gear.

People always complain about how bad the battery problem is but never believe it when being told the Anker USB C PD powerbank makes this baby run 5+ hours. It's INSANE. And when you have 2 powerbanks you can practically run the camera endless. No overheating, no power issues - just disconnect the empty Anker - connect the full Anker, charge the empty Anker within 2 hours, rinse and repeat. For me, the best camera since the photo part is damn near perfect as well (extreme motorsports, stills etc.). 11/10 from an amateur perspective.

Dustin is the first one to say - and I herein reconfirm - that there is a big difference in the old LP-6 and the newer LP-E6NH. In two 4-hour shoots, I only replaced my battery (the newer LP-E6NH) once in both -- but had 7 on hand because of all the complaints. I had rigged it up and bought Nano 1 and 2 just to be safe -- but ultimately didn't need at all. I know I will need for 8K though.

Thanks for the great professional and PRACTICAL review! I’m already in love with the camera and it’s #1 on my wish list for a B-cam that I can also do stills with. I really appreciate you mentioning your approach to shooting in 4K for fast turnaround to clients. It reminds me that I don’t have to get bogged down in the editing/color-grading process in post at the cost of turning out content. Thanks!

I know that there are certainly some filmmakers who are producing 8k content for very specific clients, but the majority of us are not. I appreciate the 8k and will probably use it at some point professionally, but the 4k XF-AVC is fantastic and checks all the boxes I need for day to day use.

@@dustinschmidtphoto Nice. Would love to hear about the pain points you've encountered and an opportunity to pick your brain about a few things here and there, lol... But I'll just stay tuned to get updates (#BellSwag). I'm super stoked about this camera cause I am currently using the 6D Mark ii to capture real estate photos and videos. So getting that HUGE bump in megapixels is gonna be awesome. And on the video side, hopefully, the R5C's dynamic range is better at dealing with blown-out windows...

@@creativegreats I think if you are examining the codecs then the bigger question is if you have a computer capable of editing with a specific codec and/or storage for all of the data. Both have perfectly acceptable codecs for professional work. The R3 has much better battery life than the R5C. Of course there are workarounds for that as well. So it completely depends on YOUR needs and how you plan to use the camera.

The Tascam adapter is a must have, for sure. Also, seeing that you do adapt EF lenses, like myself, and use the filter adapter, you might want to consider the Kondor Blue Cine Cage specifically designed for the Canon R5 C. The big thing about that cage is, that it does not obstruct you from changing filters. On your battery mount there, I wouldn't trust the velcro. That Anker 26800 mAh PD 45W battery is on the heavy side. Smallrig make a battery clamp that fits that battery (BUB2336), best mounted horizontally, not vertically, so the battery doesn't risk of slipping out. Overall lots of good points covered in the video, but way too heavy on the bokeh, which makes it difficult to present products, when they're more out of focus than in focus.

@@JoshSmith-ct3fi I may have only answered the first part of what I thought was your question in that case. I'm not sure which has bigger file size. I would imagine they are very similar since they're probably shooting the same pixel dimensions and data rates. Again, I don't have both an R5 and an R5C to compare directly. But in regards to image quality, the R5C is rumored to perform better. There are also some tests out there for image quality that people have done if you search, Cined.com for example or Gerald Undone. Canon probably has some official data on file sizes and data rates if you search canon's site.

Auto Focus is FANTASTIC. I have the R6 and the AF is the best so when I first tested the R5C I thought the latter was inferior UNTIL I found you could modulate responsiveness and quickness in the menu -- and after a quick test, I changed my responsiveness to +3 and it is FAST and smooth and as good or better than R6 now. Either a firmware update made this change or some people are not aware of the modularity.
