Excellent input! Is it possible to add feedback for both correct and incorrect answers in the same CSV file that contains the questions? If so, what would the new structure of the CSV file be?

This is fantastic, thanks so much Sean and Phillip! I just tried it with Copilot, and it generates an .xlsx file, so no need to copy/paste the table.

Thanks for the video! Do you know if there is any way to include feedback by answer choice within the CSV to convert into the QTI? I know you can do it with the '@' after each option in Respondus 4.0, but I am a mac user at work. I am also not too comfortable with QTI to know the ins and outs of formatting possibilities!

I'm getting this error on all questions when converting the CSV to QTI: "Missing columns needed for question type "MC;;1;". The columns look fine in Excel (I have included the empty B column, btw). Do you have any clue to what's up? 🤔

I ran into this issue then realized that saving the file as a CSV (Comma delimited)(*.csv) (not the other CSV formats) resolves the issue.

@@greese8691 I'm saving it as that but still get the error (on every question), saying that it's missing columns for the question type.

Do you know if there is a way to convert the files in a way that the questions can import into New Quizzes on Canvas instead of classic quizzes?

I'm a little late, but... If you're from Brazil, you probably work with the Brazilian version of the Microsoft Office Software (like I do). In this case, the CSV values are exported and the commas are saved as semicolons. There's a workaround: open the CSV and substitute every semicolon for a comma, then the process works just fine. Maybe it could help someone... BTW, great video! It made my quiz creation process much faster! Thanks a lot

Fantastic, all went well in doing this. Sean, thank you for a really clear and concise way for teachers to save a lot of time and use a valuable tool for formative assessment. Low stakes quizzes will be part of the response to check student reading for understanding with ChatGPT starting to impact on student learning. The multiple response questions did not generate the comma required to incorporate multiple responses but otherwise all good with accuracy. That was easily changed in the csv file. Would love to know how to incorporate into the table the generated positive comments and explanations when students get the answers wrong.

Interesting, I've generated several quizzes for the same article and the correct response seem to change. While easily fixed, it's something to be wary of.

You show how to add explanations at 8:20. How do you add the explanations to the Excel table so that it gets into Canvas? Is there a separate column that needs to be added? Same goes for positive feedback at 8:40. How do you get the feedback from ChatGPT to Canvas? Thank you!

I find interesting tips on Reddit sometimes. www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/comments/108iavw/pretty_simple_prompt_to_have_chatgpt_format/ There's usually someone who knows a good prompt. I haven't really been making many tables in ChatGPT lately.

I wonder if you could take an Excel sheet and manually enter your own quiz questions like the format chatGPT created, and then go through the other steps to import that quiz into Canvas. Is there any example somewhere of what the columns would need to be and the options (like MC, MT, TF), e.g., a short essay.
@HowToCanvas

You can absolutely do that. Follow my template with the question type in the first column, a blank second column, point value in the third column, etc. etc. I personally don't know if short answer or essay would be a question type in that format. Perhaps.

As far as I've researched, I don't think this is possible. I'll make a video next week talking through the Excel spreadsheet more precisely.
