About The Bars with problem, you Cut one cm on The inner side of The Gripps and move the controls one cm closer to The hands and you got The same with as you got with The 80cm bars, cos The gripps are always wider than they need to be, if you look down holding The grips you se that there is empty space on The right side of your hands cos you keep your hands close to The controls.

Nice video! I am in the beginnings of my search for my first ebike. I have a pivot switchblade v2 and I want to keep it so I can still ride with my mates that dont ebike. Plus, I love that effn switchblade. Im in the US and it seems like there is way less ebike options over here… Funny, I was watching your video and thinking to myself, I wonder if he will be selling one of these bikes because I have had an eye on the focus jam2! For the money, it appears to be an awesome bike! It gets great reviews and looks of a stunner too! My question for focus is about the new bosche updates to larger battery and computer system thingy that goes on the bars. I wonder if the 2022 models will have the new setup.

Hi, I actually sold the Canyon shortly after posting this vid. Re the 2022 model I suspect they will stick to same tech/model grading. They will use the purion display upto and including the 6.7 with 6.8 probably sticking with the current Kiox setup and the top of the range going with the new Kiox and integrated controller. The jury is out for me on the new setup, haven't seen it in the flesh yet. The current setup I like tho, once I got used to the controller. The Orbea Rise is an awesome bike aswel! Had mine since June and ride it more than the Focus.

Good vid. Just ordered a Focus Jam myself but a bit worried about sizing. I’m 174 cm / 5’9 and was recommended a medium which I ordered (not been to try for size) but I have since ridden a large Trek Rail and it was a great fit. Would you mind telling me your height and do you think I’ll be fine with a medium Jam?

I wouldnt worry, im 6ft and the medium feels great for me. Im not a long reach guy, i dont like to feel stretched out while seated. You can always play with stem lemgth and bar width for fine tuning the fit. I am currently running a 60mm stem with an 800 bar if that helps.

Hi, i absolutely agree with that, there is a clear difference in power, but in real world conditions in the relative trail/emtb modes, i find the shimano system to be far more natural and not significantly underpowered when set in the highest power mode. I actually dont find the power difference to be a decisive factor unless going head to head up the steepest trail.

@mickwalsh7915
3 жыл бұрын
Gary Lord I’m happy with it but it depends on your riding. I ride in a group of 5. 3 of us have the 504 watt/hr battery.2 have a 540 and we tend to do about 30 to 35 mile rides with about 3 to 4000 ft of climbing. I alway get back with 2 bars left on my battery which equates to another 12 to 16 miles remaining. Range anxiety can be an issue if you want to do epic rides but you soon learn to tailor your rides to suit. We do a lot of riding in eco and use trail and boost for the climbs. A 20 mile ride you could easily do it all in trail and boost. Basically, If that’s not enough for you, you need to look at a bigger battery

What are your toughts of the fox float dps on the focus?
@trickyrickymtb5622

I generally like the float DPS as I find it usually give decent mid stroke support. A few reviews say that it's blows through its travel on the Focus, but my experience is that it feels OK. @@emtbrides5830 the tune will be different, but you can see how it rides and add/remove volume spacers to adjust the tune if you feel it needs tweaking. @@emtbrides5830 I have a 210 x 55 fox dps, I will measure the actual piston length. I think there is 5mm extra on the physical stroke length so the o-ring doesn't ping off when bottoming out. This would make a 50mm stroke measure at 55mm.
