The Torrente Grigno, also lovingly called Apocalypse Now, is definitely a contender for most stunning canyon in the Alps. Extremely narrow, deep, and dark, with lots of water flowing through. Occasional rays of sunshine poking through to the narrow canyon floor create one of the most amazing sceneries we have seen to date. This canyon offers some nice abseils and quite a few jumps, with stretches of hiking and swimming in between. The water flow is high, and some experience in whitewater as well as rappelling in high flow is recommended for the Apocalypse Now. All in all, the Torrente Grigno is about 3 hours of absolutely stunning scenery.
