Knew what to expect from the title. Anyone who has exited Buzzards Bay with the pressure on knows. Nice shot of it.

I had to experience this myself to believe it. Afternoon of August 23, 2016, exited the canal heading west with the current into a southwester. An idyll turned into a horror show. My 17,000 lb displacement, 38-foot sailboat was burying her bow in the waves and the prop was cavitating. My advice: set sail as soon as you can in order to tack diagonally down the channel if traffic allows. You'll get a much better ride. Or simply avoid this combination of wind and tide.
