@@franticfrancis9710 Take the usual precautions and you'll be fine. Like any city there are places you shouldn't go alone or at night. Use Uber to get around, especially at night time and be vigilant. Don't advertise your possessions. If you take a wrong turn and find yourself on a quiet street that doesn't feel right, don't get out the map (or worse, your phone), just retrace your steps back to where it was busy. Wherever I go I always take a "dummy wallet" with at least one credit card (that can be instantly cancelled), £20 or so in local currency and photos of my loved ones (ones I can replace). If anyone does try to mug you (I've never had this yet, apart from one attempt to steal my ATM card in London) just hand over the dummy wallet.

I love this City. I spent a month there and what an amazing experience. It has gotten so much bad press over the years for it crime but as long as you’re not stupid and don’t go where you’re not supposed to go you can’t go wrong. I never felt unsafe whiles there. I felt more unsafe in places in the US and even some parts of London then what I did there. The food and the scenery is out of this world. And I had met some wonderful people. Quay 4 at the waterfront is a must. Sipping on Cold castle beer and a steak with live music in the background.

Correction on Minibus taxis. They are regulated and a far cheaper option for moving around. I do not recommend them for tourists but they certainly move most of the work force in South Africa and cheapest mode of transport. An Uber trip of R200 would cost R15 in a minibus taxi so if you learn the transport system it can certainly be a very affordable way of moving around.

Finally someone doing Cape Town justice! I visit my family there as much as possible. I think you missed out the visit to Robben Island. It really cements in your mind the history of the place and the struggle the people went though to get equal rights. Also for food, South Africa has the best meat in the world, get your braai out. Next you should do Leeds, UK and Detroit. If you ever do Detroit, you HAVE to highlight Windsor, ON. It's a short bus and you get to one of the best independent restaurant hubs in all of Canada. Severely underrated.

I say it once again. The travel videos created by Attaché is 10 of 10 every time. The editing, colors, voice over, the way a country is presented, Alex as a host (!) is a great combo. Always good info thats straight to the point without any bs, stupid effects or bad jokes. Keep it up!! Edit: One thing tho. I wish that you increase the volume of your audio tracks a little bit before exporting. Max volume on KZitem + my Dell XPS laptop is still quite low imo when listening through the laptop speakers. If you increase the volume I can lower it with the volume controllers myself :) If you fix this... I really cannot see how any other travel channel can compete with you. Impossible. ;)

Regarding your comment on mini bus taxis, they are regulated by various taxi associations and remain the most common form of transport for Cape Town's working class. I've been to Cape Town many times and was there again earlier this year. It's a beautiful city. It has become 'edgier' over the years though. You can be subject to persistent, aggressive begging in the city centre during the day. We were. A city security guard advised my wife to remove her neck chain just to be safe. She said it wasn't particularly valuable but he advised it all the same. Sure enough, a woman staying in our hotel had her neck chain snatched right outside the hotel in broad daylight. At night you simply do not walk anywhere in the city centre. Even going to a restaurant a quarter of a mile away we were advised to take a cab. In Strand Street, where our hotel was, large groups of young men congregated on the street corners, in doorways and up side streets. Other than them, you did not see anyone walking. It's safe in the Waterfront but you should never walk to or from there, even in the day. I have probably exhausted Cape Town now, but if I ever went back I would stay out in Camps Bay or False Bay or similar. I would not stay in the city centre. In most European cities - Munich, Paris, Barcelona, London etc - you stay as close in to the centre as you can afford. In South Africa it is the opposite.
