I agree with all the adulatory comments. I have found the text to Fagail Bhernaraidh, but it has 6 verses, and it doesn't seem like she's singing all of them. And of course there doesn't seem to be any correspondence between the spelling and the pronunciation, so I'm lost in trying to follow. (I should explain that I'm hard of hearing, so some subtle sounds are lost to me.) Would someone please provide some clues? Thanks. (I'll post the text if that helps.)

Besides loan words taken from English, Gaelic has minimal relationship with English. Modern English is a Germanic Language with a simplified grammar due to the Norman Conquest of England that has a great many loan words take after 1066 from French. Gaelic is an ancient language with a more complicated grammar and a different set of phonetics from English. the most significant connection, other than the loan words is that they are both Indo-European languages so it is not like French or Spanish where many words are similar to longer,English, French derived words, or Swedish and Danish where many of the shorter words are similar to English words that are from Old English (pre1066). The only languages related to Scottish Gaelic in Europe are Irish Gaelic, which is essentially the same as Scottish Gaelic, Welsh, Cornish and Breton which are the surviving fellow Celtic languages.
