The region of Cappadocia in Türkiye has some of the most amazing natural features that we've seen! Today, we explored the Zelve Open Air Museum which mixes some of this natural beauty with human innovation. All through this valley is a series of rock formations which jut up from the ground making lots of peaks and interesting shapes. Luckily for the people settling this area, the way these rocks formed meant that they were much softer than other rock formations which made them easier to dig into and mold.
Over hundreds of years, settlements were built inside these rock formations which included churches, houses, mosques, storage spaces, and much more. This place is seriously an incredible sight and goes to show how amazing some human settlements can be when those building them are provided interesting opportunities. We loved exploring the Zelve Museum and hope you love following along with us!

If you're new here...
Hi! We are Marshall and Sabrina, a couple from Colorado who are eager to see the world! We quit our jobs and packed our bags to pursue a life of full-time travel.
Our travels began in 2022 where we spent a month and a half navigating through new territory and adjusting to living out of a suitcase. After taking a year to build up our savings, we boarded a plane with one-way tickets to Europe!
