It takes me 5 minutes to get to the nearest HF. And 1/2 hour to travel to the next 4 stores. That sold me on ICON. Returns are no hassle, walk in walk out with a new tool. Convenience and ease of return, plus ICON has become a good tool for the money.

Hi Scott, nothing wrong with icon, I did mention thier good tools and they are making a name for themselves, great warranty and decent price, I like the Capri ratchets better, their feel and function!! I own lots of icon tools, love their pliers! I got more icon reviews coming, you might want to see, it comes down to ones preference for everybody, thanks for your input!

Jeff, totally agree with you! I picked up the Capri as well. I would recommend throwing a little bit of Super Lube, in the head. They both clearly are trying to replicate the Snap On Comfort Grip Dual 80 and I think the Capri does the best at that.

I think you got me sold on the Icon comfort grip ratchet. My go to ratchet was my Mac 3/8 long flex head with the red plastic handle. It felt like an extension of my hand. I don't like the soft comfort grip handles. Snap On's comfort grip felt like a sponge in my hand. A friend has a Pittsburgh socket set in a plastic case with the comfort grip handles. The grip felt perfect. It was solid. I'm guessing that the Icon has the same feel. The Icon has a red handle. Red is my favorite color. I think that over time and use the Icon will wear in and smooth out. I always pull a new ratchet apart and check for lube. I give them a shot of 3 and 1 oil. That smooths them up a little.

Hi lieser, glad I could help, thier both good ratchets, it comes down to what you like, if you like the harder comfort grip handles, the icon for you, the ratchet teeth probably need some lube, not sure, it's new, not used yet not broke in, so that could be the case!! Hope I'm helping you guys,in your decisions, stay tuned for more goodies!!

If the Icon would have had the lever recessed, I would have kept them? Didn't realize it, till I got home and said crap? I never gave it much thought, until I got them home, and compared my other ratchets to them, and they all had that feature I liked, and just never thought about how much I like that about the others? Not that they are bad at all, just when you spend a ton of money on tools in 30 years time, you should at least get what you want, right? Great ratchets, Jeff. I'd go with the Capri, since having a softer and larger grip, is the whole point of actually having a grip over a steel handle, that's hard, like the hard plastic Icon grip?

Hi Dave, were on the same page, the Capri got bigger and softer handle and smoother gears!! I hear you on recessed level, could be a snag problem in tight areas! The Capri head is not as wide as the icon! So that would help! Thanks Dave, if thier something you wanna see give me a yell!!

Yep looks like a great ratchet. I have Icon as well. I think the harder material on the Icon is made to withstand grease and chemical better than softer. Have you felt the grip on the new quinn ratchets? Nothing like the Capri or Icon... but that grip is to kill for! I can see the capri grip is bit wider and more comfortable.
