Me and my family used to come with a trailer, and stay at the park all the time. My dad and I would hunt for mule deer on another property in the Canyon outside the park. It’s been years now since I’ve visited, and I can’t believe I see so many buffalo there now. There was a point where I stayed at the park almost every weekend, and I remember seeing only 1 buffalo the entire time I was there. It’s really amazing to see this, thank you. :)

We camped at Caprock a couple years ago. Was before we had our camper. Darbi was not a fan of the bison. She barked and growled every time she saw them. I personally loved the prairie dogs. Traveling to Colorado next week and I'm trying to decide between Caprock and palo duro otw. Palo duro seems to have the better views but Caprock canyons looks just as good. Caprock does seem to have way less people from what I hear which is a huge plus for me, I'm not a big fan of crowds on trails. I probably can't go wrong with either park though as they both look extremely beautiful.

I love both parks. If you want less people and see bisons then Caprock is the way to go. Caprock Canyon has similar views. Palo Duro is one of the more popular parks we have here. Other than that I've been to a few different trails close to denver but never any of the major parks. On the way to denver this time I'm stopping at great sand dunes National Park and rocky mountain National park, highly looking forward to both Once you get that National Park pass you can't go wrong with any of the western states if you havent been yet.
