Very informative. Great representation of Boca Grande tarpon fishing.

Great interview. Red tide is brutal right now in Sanibel. Wish there was something the average Joe like myself could do to help minimize this red tide.

There are PLENTY of boats and guides still using illegal snag jigs in the pass. There's almost zero enforcement of the laws out there, my theory is because Gasparilla Island depends so heavily on people coming in to catch tarpon that they overlook the snagging of tarpon for the big tourism $$$$. It's hard enough to catch them on the hill tides with primo live crabs with relatively light tackle drifting and presenting the bait perfectly. Jig snagging is easy and almost guaranteed to get a complete novice a hookup, and everyone turns a blind eye. Really sad and shameful.

It’s been from Boca down to FT Myers beach. Seems it pushing south so it may have cleared in Boca. It’s mostly inshore. Brutal around the Sanibel Causeways right now. FWC has a red tide map. Hundreds and hundreds of dead fish in the bays.
