Thank you so much! Those cracks are going to be challenging with the big one. Thinking maybe a square shaped ring, and similar hard cornering on rest of bowl, rather than rounded. What would you do with the big one, given depth, grain, rarity/expense, cracks? Just out of interest.

@@WoodWithDI am the last person on Earth you should ask advice on any of your artistic endeavours. The universe did not grant me a single iota of creativity except the ability to make smart alec comments. Don't consider these rarity/expense as the things to hold you back, you have both the artistic and technical abilities to carry out the project.

Beautiful love the color and the grain I had visions of the wood splitting when you were trying to put the 10 mil pins in but you got away with it I really love the contrast between the brown Ivory and you pins would love to see what it looked like after Lenore got finished with the gold leaf or semi precious metal Blessings

Well thought out! The brown ivory it’s just gorgeous… why did you not enjoy turning? The wood looks like it may be oily (like the opposite of wenge). How does it feel to the touch, closed or open grain?
@WoodWithD
Жыл бұрын
Not oily at all, close grained, the Wenge was a good match. The brown ivory suffers heat cracks easy with slightest heat generated when sanding. I’m just getting fussy in my old age 😢😊

Thank you Kristina! Sold that Zirocota sculptural piece I made last year at a show last weekend, so I think I’m going to now make a replacement in similar style (but nowhere near the same) with that big bit of Ziricota in this vid
