For those who are confused it is currently 18.2 billion light years away but the light from it has taken 10.37 billion years to reach us which means we are seeing it as where it was 10.37 billion years ago... Some of you are confused because the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. It is because the fabric of space time is expanding not matter. The Hubble's constant is 73 km/s per megaparsec and if something is 2 megaparsecs away then its receding twice the speed. @@Astro-adventure because it took 8 gigantic telescopes placed in several different continents away from each other to directly view a black hole (Sagittarius A) that is much more “visible” from Earth. This was an astronomical achievement, and the one and only time it has been done. The project was “EHT collaboration”. And it costed roughly sixteen million dollars. If it were to be done again but with the most massive of black holes discovered before it would be seen as monumental, and you would be able to find a definitive answer easily if it had been done or not. This is not the case. This telescope is large but if you see what they used for EHT collab you would realize how massive of telescopes they would have to be to (directly) photograph that, and that is what he is claiming to do which would be impossible.

(i agree, the telescope is amazing even tho it probably isnt even the person who made the videos telescope) just read this, i can prove its fake ok so, the universe as we know it is in theory 13.8 billion years old. And if we do the math 18-13.8=4.2 (if u zoom at a planet 1 light year away u would see the planet 1 year in the past) That means that if we use the knowlage basing on this video we are seeing 4.2 billion years before the universe was made (wich is not possible showing he/she does not know shit about the universe). And also a black hole is not visible with the naked eye, that is with or without a telescope. So she/he did NOT capture that video.
@blobstudio

@@didrikklausen236 its most likely fake, however your way of proving it is incorrect. black holes themselves arent visible without an x-ray telescope, however you can see the light of the quasar. and it ACTUALLY took about 10 billion years for the light to reach us. the estimated distance however is 18 billion light years because of the expansion of the universe.

@@rizkyakbar3531 Light can escape from a black hole, wether it’s from the accretion disk, relativistic jets or matter from the black hole, I think you might be confused because we say that a black hole is a region of space so dense not even light can escape it, which is usually only true for when the light crosses the event horizon.
