Guarantee the guy in the video fucked up and tried to blame it on the gas station that would literally never happen and there's a reason in his next vid he's like "gonna cost $3,000 to repair my car I'm just gonna go home.." so obviously his car got fucked up from the diesel and the gas station never made him a single cent to repair it because it was HIS OWN FAULT but he wanted to be a little story telling fibber and make himself look better by lying, why's your car still BROKEN from the diesel then

This is why my Grandma tells me to save all gas receipts until I get gas 2 more times. In Houston the fuel tanks are known to get water in them especially after major floods

This happened to my cousin at a BP. She thought she was filling up with regular and they had accidentally put diesel in the pumps. They fully compensated her getting her car fixed plus , if I’m not mistaken, they paid for a day of work she missed.

@@Scotty-vs4lf it can fairly easily, diesel and gasoline work fundamentally different, with gasoline it is sprayed into the cylinder and the cloud is ignited by the spark from the spark plug, in a diesel it is compression driven, where instead of having spark plugs the fuel is ignited by being compressed by the cylinder, and due to the lower octane rating of the fuel it will not be, or not fully, ignited in a gasoline engine and can fill cylinder hydro locking the motor

@@Scotty-vs4lf ah, that's fine. Hydro locking refers to an engine no longer being able to spin due to liquid in the cylinder, water is most common but it can happen with diesel, coolant, and even oil in rare cases

@@dickjohnson9582 it's as strong as it needs to be to protect the cars circuits, too much energy, the fuse blows. Infact its a weak point engineered into the car, so it is infact not a strong fuse like you claim it is one of the weakest parts of the car.

with receipts and video cameras, they prove themselves guilty. truckers cross drop often. they forget to change the label on their tanks or are too busy. most companies restrict earbuds or cellphone use at all drops for liabilities like this and fire those who cross drop the first or second time. owner operators will do their own thing but if they cross drop they lose their contracts and get a bad name. always get gas at chain stores.

Holy crap! That happened to me once too. When I went back early the next morning I had a ticket from the highway patrol. Charming. Had it towed into Pismo Beach. Don't remember what it was, but luckily I was able to get it repaired and was able to drive home at the end of the weekend. I was young then, and way before cell phone days. You know, when dinosaurs roamed the earth . . .

This happened to me too! Brand new truck, and when I called the little store to let them know he called me some Horrible names and hung up on me! About 20 vehicles later the store closed the pumps and had to repair all of the cars and trucks! 😅

Cool story and being from south ga I’m amazed the store owner admitted responsibility being a fuel whole sale distributor put it in the ground tanks nearly as much as diesel ruining your fuel pump. It won’t run in a cold motor for sure but killing the pump… that best mobile mechanic knows what I mean 😂

We have a gas station in town that has water in their storage tanks... if thier fuel level drops below a certain point a few people get their cars destroyed. It's been happening at least 6 years.

I've never heard of that before. Never have a even ran into someone who's delt with "the station putting the wrong fuel in the tanks" that is incredibly unnerving but I hope it's rare. What I hope is that there aren't many more people in your situation. That station is gonna have a heck of a week if so.

Yea I'm a fuel truck driver and that was definitely the driver that mixed the fuel. They now have to come out and do a pump out to get all the mixed fuel out. The fuel truck Company will end up paying for everything plus damages

Most gas stations get their tanks filled by a distributor so that is the distributor’s fault. Source: I worked at a top 1% shell station for 3 years where 1 year I was graveyard PIC. The 2 years before that I was on the busiest shift…. Swing shift…. Glad the gas station made it right but at the same time I’m hoping the distributor makes it right for the gas station….

I remember watching the fuel monitor at the station I worked while our favorite driver was filling the tanks. Tank 3 (regular) started flashing a bunch of error codes and then one message over top "STOP FLOW // OVERFLOW // CONTAMINANT" as the guy was apparently pumping in diesel for his next stop to our regular tank, _while customers were outside pumping gas_ . Never saw that driver again... shame, the next guy was a dick. Didn't pump the wrong fuel, but he did paperwork wrong every time.

I would rather do the paperwork wrong every time than pump the wrong fuel once. Can’t white out and rewrite the wrong fuel. I say this because it sounds like me. I always do the little things wrong at work, paperwork, etc, but I always mix my chemicals correctly. We know this because if I fkd up, we’d all be evacuated and/or in hospital.

If the diesel wasn’t in for that long Just drain the tank and fill it with gas. Use a suction bottle to free the rails and lines. It should be good to after that. It’ll smoke white for a while but just let it run for a couple hours and it’ll be good to go.

It can be done without replacing the fuel pump, but it takes time. Seeing as it was the garages fault, then it's only right they paid and did whatever was best.

That pump was most likely fine. Diesel is higher in lubrication than gas. It just needed to be pumped out.
