Hello Car Ninja. I love your channel. Your knowledge about BMW's is amazing and I love watching you wrench on them. I've been a BMW fan for decades. I was surprised to see you using a Scotch Brite pad on that oil filter housing gasket surface. GM has a TSB warning against using abrasive pads on/around engines. Apparently, the aluminum oxide abrasive grit comes off, gets in the oil and can cause premature bearing wear/failure ( it is too fine to get caught by the oil filter). There is also a theory that BMW bearing failures are exacerbated by dirt entering the "clean side" oil passages when changing the oil filter housing gasket. Take it for what it's worth... just an FYI for you. If you want to read the bulletin, search for: "00-06-01-012F" Keep up the good work. It's nice to see someone who isn't afraid to work on the "Ultimate Driving Machine".

My service adviser and mechanic are down earth people and understand there BMW customer, which I hear is hard to find at BMW service dealership. So I am thankful. They made comment one time, that I am one of the fewest BMW customer that actually stays on top of there maintenance. So my car never has engine light on or anything wrong with.
