Casey - couldnt agree more on the 'dont sit in the car'. Festival of Speed 2017 I came back to my Porsche on display after lunch to find a woman had opened my driver door and put her child in the car behind the wheel for photos. (i pointed out it was a car 'show' not a car 'Sit'.) As you know - i would have gladly permitted her child to sit in the car, but... was none too happy that they presumed it ok to do so without asking. And.. for car owners, ... I sometimes come across folks displaying at a charitable event, but they feel that by simply being there, they are somehow not obligated or dont find it necessary to contribute towards the charity themselves. We all need to recognize that these organizers spend a lot of their personal time organizing, and the charities truly need as much financial help possible... so even those displaying can do their part!

Those are both great points. The Decepticon Camaro incident I talked about happened at a FoS as well. You'd think at an event like that they'd think twice. That's the thing though, you, like me and others, are nice enough to let people sit in the car if they want. You also let me drive it! Now that's just crazy! kzitem.info/news/bejne/onmG2qKuo3WiZXY Thanks for contributing to the comments my man! - CJP

Loved this episode...add to the list: watch out for strollers. I had one of my cars scuffed by one of those big strollers

Great episode! I agree with everything. I've been to several auto shows and have seen, on many occasions, people randomly going to a vehicle to touch it, get inside the vehicle, or even sit on top of the hood! People are not aware of how disrespectful this can be. I recommend to anyone that before you do something with someone's vehicle, always ask first. There is absolutely no harm in that. Thanks for sharing this!

I will always let people sit in the car if they ask. What I hate is, when people open up the doors; & just take it for granted that they can go & sit in it. Some treat cars at shows like they are exhibits at Disney or Universal. They aren't. Those of us who go to shows LOVE showing off our cars. Its why we built them. I was at a show where I saw a super tall pickup with huge polished deep dish wheels. Suddenly a child was standing ON & IN THE DEEP DISH WHEEL; & the 'father' was taking a picture of his lil' darling STANDING on someones rims! I said "HEY! Get your kid off the rims!"...He just looked at me blankly & TOOK ANOTHER PIC! I took a pic of him & showed it to the truck's owner when he returned; so he could be on the look out for them if they did it again, or if the rim had any damage. MOST Folks are respectful of the cars. Its a small portion that you have to be on the look out for. THOSE few can really ruin things & tick you off. Also, I agree with what was posted earlier about doing burn-outs while leaving or entering a show. Unless the event sanctions it, knock it off. So much could go wrong.

Great episode. I would also advise for people to be respectful of the venue and area. No burnouts, speeding or being loud. Don’t be that one person that ruins an event for everyone else.

Great point! That has gotten event shut down and kicked out of what would otherwise be great venues. Is it me or the cars that rev loud are the ones that don't sound good doing it? lol - CJP

I would advise that young people should not be throwing balls near the show vehicles. I've seen that on a few occasions and it's not cool. All it takes is the slip of the hand or a missed catch and that ball smacks the side of a car. Also, those with skateboards and bicycles should stay well distant of any vehicles on display. You really don't want to be the fool that scratches the car you're admiring. The owner isn't going to be pleased either... Having said that Casey is right most owners are delighted if you show them and their vehicle respect. If you ask they'll probably let you set in it and get a selfie [especially the kidos].

I really wish people would stop bringing their dogs to car shows.. what if the dog decided to jump on someones door and completely scratch it... this is just my opinion.

Dog hater! lol Just kidding. I bring my dog to shows but it's very rare as I am always shooting. I discipline my dog, but I can't shoot and keep an eye on her at the same time. I also know that not everyone keeps their dogs in check so if a venue says no dogs I understand. - CJP

Outstanding episode. I would also ask show goers to be conscious of what they carry in their pockets. The clip of a pocket knife would do some serious damage to a car's paint if someone just casually rubbed their right/left pocket up against the ride.

Exactly! People are doing themselves, their children & their pets a favor by being respectful of other people's property. Definitely take an interest in the cars. Talk to the owners. They'll love it. But...don't touch.
