A popular fried chicken chain in the Philippines popularized this recipe.
My version is not as sweet but it is creamy, fudgy and simply irresistible! Please remember not to over mix and not to over bake because it toughens the cake. Once you take the cake out of the oven, it will look dry and hard. Cool it well. Wrap in plastic or foil and serve the following day. This is one of those recipes wherein they are best eaten the day after it is baked because the cake will be moist from the addition of the condensed milk and syrup. The "holding" time will allow the flavors to blend. The addition of nuts is optional. For my personal consumption, I do not add nuts. If you add nuts, you can add half to the batter and the remaining half on top. The amount of nuts you put in is variable. This recipe is good for those occasions when you need to bake ahead of time.
