Classic brittle with a corny twist. #cornnuts #candy #dessert
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
2 cups Corn Nuts(or any nuts)
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp baking soda
Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
Recipe:
Put the Sugar, water, butter, and corn syrup in a pot with tall enough sides to avoid boiling over(at least 3 inches tall)
Clip a candy thermometer to the side and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
Boil mixture until it reaches 300°F, stirring occasionally(around 10 minutes)
Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda.
When the baking soda is completely mixed in, add the Corn Nuts and stir until they are evenly coated
Spread the mixture in a thin layer on a nonstick baking sheet or a baking sheet lined with lightly oiled parchment
Let it cool completely.
Crack and enjoy!
